I sure did...just checked his post time.....but someone always tries to shoot the messenger!! This just came over the AutoWeek Daily News Brake (sic) this morning.
Anyway, unless he's in his 70's, my correct title would be "ol' man", not "son"!

Is that an "official" photo or just one of those old photoshopped pics? Not a fan of the styling in that pic. I just hope it's not a hatchback

My mom has a 2003 C230 Coupe. Honestly, I did not like the idea of a 'hunch-back Mercedes' at first... fast forward to me, 3 years later; wanting to BUY my loaner car C230 Coupe after the most joyful week of waiting for parts and service. As far as mom is concerend, her C230 Coupe is not honestly as bug-free as we'd hope, but still a Mercedes that finishes every job thrown at it like a champ. So whether the next C-coupe is a hatch or a proper coupe (like a trimmed down CLK replacement) it will be a blessing whenever it DOES happen.
As for this "new 2011 C-Class Coupe" under diescussion, the rumors have been flying since the then-new 2008 C-class was about to be launched in '07. But the CLC program was already commited to at that time so that ship never sailed. Now, multiple sources are saying there is to be an "all new" a.k.a. current-generation C-Class coupe; based on the W204 sedan platform. The trouble is that it seems so LATE in the game modify the current W204 platform. More worrying still, is the fact that no one - anywhere - has reported seeing a test mule or pre-production W204 Coupe anywhere in the world. Meanwhile, we see imigaes all over the net of Mercedes A-class, R-class, GenII CLS, GenVI S-Class and even Vito pics when those models' launches are still 24 to 36 months out. I hate to say it but if it was really out there, Brenda Priddy and crew certainly WOULD have spotted it by now.
So, do any of you really believe it's possible that Mercedes-Benz has kept this an open secret for about 3 years now but there is not even ONE prototype on the road YET???
For now, I'll say this. Mercedes offers many body types and vehicle configurations. It is in this way that each owner can have a truly individual experience, in proprtion to the wishes and priorities of the owner. It is in this way, they make it possible to conquer a mountain in an M-class or enjoy a backroad alone in the SLK. If you want all the quality, technology, safety, performance and life-long usability that no other company can match at a reasonable price; C-Class it is. And if you want it all... Meet the S and SL. In short Every Mercedes is a star in its own right. And while I agree that Mercedes needs a lower priced car in the U.S. I just can not buy into this hype until I'm actually driving one.
To compare apples and oranges, back in 1999 when I went to buy my first used car at Toyota, they said "You should wait till next year - the New supra will come out..." In fact, they've said it at every almost toyota dealer I've ever been to for years now. Amost as though they were promising the real, live Santa Clause to a hopeful child. Well, I quit buying Toyotas since then. But I STILL hear that line every time I check out a Tundra while waiting for my aunt's 30k mile service on the Camry.
My point is, I'm afraid, this time around, the "new C-Coupe" is Mercede's Santa Clause. And we're all grown-ups now... And Christmas is still a LONG ways off - whether you say it's December 25th or Model year 2011.

Those are not the pictures guys. R23lb's picture is a photochop from long ago and the CLC is a facelift from the old version.
This car will be completely new. No one knows what it looks like yet.

It is really a show of retro lines type 60s+ fastback. This brings along excellent drag coefficients, but... is the Yogi Berra model (Dejà vue all over again). I trust that MB300AMG is right and the real thing will be better looking.

Oh come, now.
As to the pictures, the E-Class coupe would look better in ANY colors than silver and black. Just kills it.

I like what they have done to the dash...looks much better IMO.
Had to edit this...why in the world would they put and analog clock in the gauge package....and as big as the tach??? I like analog gauges but get the clock out of there and make the Speedo and Tach the two biggest gauges.

Hmmmmm.....the business case likely found that the costs of facilitizing the U.S. plant for a fifth bodystyle (with GL, M, R, C sedan) outweighed the potential profit from currency conversions and shipping. The Alabama plant should be highly flexible, given how new it is, so the anticipated coupe volume is likely low for the US vs. ROW. In other words, we are getting the coupe because they already happen to have it for other markets and homologating the coupe after the sedan for the U.S. from Germany was relatively low incremental investment. But, don't plan to see lots of them!
