HELP!! How do I enable Backup Camera in Engineering Mode with Command Update?

I,ve tried every information that i know from other threads but still no display
Please help if i've done any step wrongly installing rear view camera.
1. I've installed the rear view camera, power cable from the camera is connected to the SAM fuse box #71 and added a fuse to it.
2. Black cable from the camera is connected to the ground.
3. The RCA cable is connected to the fakra cable to the Head Unit. Plugged in to the green slot behind.
4. Went to the engineering mode and selected rear view camera, there were two options 1. Not Installed, 2. Installed, i've selected Installed cause there were no srvc or other options.
5. Then turned on Video Aux
6. Then in system setting selected rear view camera and activated by R gear and deselected voice guidance.
But when i put to reverse gear nothing changes in the screen, there were no black screen, doesn't flicker, doesn't show check surrounding.
Please help, any ideas...

You may be experiencing the same problem as me. I never knew how the "add a fuse" worked so I had to troubleshoot a little bit. If you used fuse #71, then that means you took a fuse out in order to insert the "add a fuse" adaptor. Once you have plugged the adaptor in you have to reinsert that fuse that you removed on the top of the add a fuse adaptor. And to complicate things. There was 2 slots on the adaptor where the fuse could go. I had to insert the fuse on the outside slot in order for it to all work. I'll try to post pics of my add a fuse adaptor later today when I get home. Hopefully that helps.

Oh. Another thing. I had to buy a 2nd add a fuse because my first one a bought from eBay was too small. It fit in the fuse slot but maybe didn't give it enough power or maybe the metal teeth weren't making contact?..?
I had to go to autozone and buy the add a fuse I showed in that picture above.

Turn off the Video Aux option. Just turn on the camera (installed) and make sure you don't have the Video Aux. option ON. If you have this installed the command will think it will only display the video when the car is at Park only.

i actually have two fuses in the "add a fuse", both slots are filled up, one for the orginal and then the other for the camera.

Tried the video Aux off as well. Is there a difference between the 2 green inputs in the back of the command? because i klnow the camera works i am thinking it is the RCA cable or the Fakra cable (just weird as i have tried two now)

Your problem is totally different than mine or Sean PS afaik; we don't even get that black parking grid -view at all and we don't have proper options under engineering menu's rearview camera -settings. The only settings we have are "installed" or "not installed", there's no "SVRC" option at all.

Since you troubleshooted that the Camera is not the problem (by connecting it to an external TV...I'd do it the other way around now.
When I installed mine, I didn't want to "Close the head unit" and put everything back together until I knew the head unit would display video when reversing..... So I connected an old Nintendo to the FAKRA cable and put it in reverse... and once I saw my Nintendo display on the screen I knew the wiring was good to go. Try that out... Maybe with a DVD player using just the RCA-yellow into the FAKRA...?

Old Thread..but anyone managed to sort this out?
Just cannot activate the backup camera on the screen. Doesn't black out, or show the camera image, etc. Just stays in whatever mode it is..have tried everything.

After you change the settings in engineering mode give it about 5+ hours to take affect. Change the settings and give it overnight then try it the next day. The changes aren't instant.

If you set the backup camera in engineering menu to SRVC or whatever and it still doesn't show, try going to System in your HU regular menu and look for "Activate camera on R" or something under the Reverse/Backup camera.

can u help me please, i have a comand NTG 2.5 and i don't have the option 'Activation rear view camera by R gear' in my comand settings. But i also can't find the backup camera option in engineering mode.
my question how do i access the camera enable menu in engineering mode?
