Freak Snow Storm!
Well I was at the local Mazda dealership checking out my co-workers new Mazda 3 Sport prior to delivery and my C Class was caught out in the snow with the Toyo T1R's on. Had to drive about 10km's home, surprisingly had a lot of grip on my summers and could go speed limit. Here's a pic of her after 10km in the snow:

lol temperature went from 13 to 1 in half an hour up here and luckily there's that 90km/h wind gusts so there won't be anything left on the street for me to worry about my PZero's come tomorrow morning.

Depends what street. Anywhere with buildings were fine, but places like 14th or near an open field got covered fast thanks to the wind pushing the snow onto the street. The power was cut in some areas including all traffic lights and my house was flickering from time to time.

Wow, lol, I just stayed home and studied.
Couldn't watch tv or do anything since the power was on and off.
I was thinking of getting my car detailed today, good thing I changed my mind
lol

LOL! I hope you didn't drive in that, and it was simply parked outside and you brought it inside when you realized... If not, well, how did the c63 perform in the snow... I really wanted one and I live in the northeastern U.S. where it snows a good 5-8 times per year, so I went with 4matic, which, as you may or may not know is only offered on the c300. I want extra HP, and for my next car, I am looking at either importing a c350 4matic from canada, or getting a c63 and just hoping I can make it in 3" snow with safe driving?

i think he drove in that since that is his winter beater. with a good winters tire you are pretty good to go anywhere with RWD. i donno about the 3" snow since the C is kinda low.

You gave a a good laugh by referring to the c63 as his "winter beater" LOL!
I had a g37S coupe with 19" rims and summer tires. Since it was a lease, and the first time I encountered snow about a month before my lease was up, I was not going to buy winter tires for it. I would suspect that it would have done much better if I had. But I guess your response elicits me to produce yet another question:
Are the c63 rims 18" or 19", and while my g37 did well in the snow even with summer tires when on the highway, I had a hard time making it up my driveway, which I would not expect to be tough at all since it is barely on a incline. My car when stopped seemed to have the back-end slide out and spin. Would winter tires prevent this and allow for better startup or inclines, or is that just the nature of the beast of RWD so to speak, and winter tires simply aid in stopping and spinouts on the highway?

Thanks for your fast reply. While I don't expect to be driving around in 3" snow, that would be all I was crazy enough to try. More realistically when it snows in my area, I get out after the plows have gone by and there is no more than a coating to 1 or 2" on the ground at any given time.

the c63 really is his winter beater since he so rich lol. its better to have winters in the snow cuz it will stop with out problem like back end slide on awd or rwd. i dont have any problem with my c300 rwd with winters on and it works great and a little fun haha. even the government suggest you put winters on for the winter in canada

Booked in with Chatelaine Auto Spa in the south. First time going to them, they look like they do a pretty good job so we will see. I went to Refine Auto Salon last year for 3M and tint and they do cleaning as well. Depends on what you get, I'm in on the spring special, so its full shampoo and cleaning on the inside and 3 step polish, wax, and sealant on the outside plus engine detail and wax on the wheels for $300. Dropped it off today and it should be ready to pick up tomorrow!
As long as Saturday stays sunny and the roads are dry when I drive home, I'm ok with that haha, I'll just take the other car in the crappy weather...want to keep it clean as long as I can after the full treatment at Chatelaine.
