New Member: A Few Questions About My Car. (C300 4Matic)

I was referred here by a few folks on The Car Lounge.
I have a black beige C300 4Matic,
I'm looking to get a little extra power out of it,
Help it handle better.
You know, just get more out of it.
I've been looking around and those same folks
who sent me here told me it'd be hard to find
ways of getting more power out of my engine
and upgrading the suspension is really what
I should focus on. So far I've found a set of
H&R Springs, and an Eibach set up with springs
and a sway bar, but I wasn't sure if the sway bar
would be compatible with my car (all wheel drive
and all). (Right now it's completely stock and I don't
want to go *too* crazy, just a minor improvement.)
If you guys could help, it'd be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Mike

Springs probably won't drop it that much...but I would search to see if any 4matic people have springs and what type of drop they saw. Just look at the website or call the companies and ask.

If it has Conti tires, getting rid of them would be a good thing. Just don't buy Chinese tires because they are cheap.

Hahah. Thanks for that.

And the springs comment.

Do you guys know where to look for a good exhaust set up?

ECU tune, and filters are basically all you can easily do right now. Anything else will be custom for C300 (headers, pulleys, etc)

You're right you're kinda of limited when it comes to 4matics. There are no coilovers for 4matics, but you do have spring (H&R) options. sway bars are also out of the question, but you could get strut brace. Currently for the fronts you have 3 options, Renntech, MB Arts, and SMerc. For the rear you have Renntech. MB Arts can make you camber arms as well if you ever drop your car and get cambering issues, so you'll put more rubber to pavement.

For exhaust you have a couple options (not counting universal). If you want dual exhaust, you have Remus. If you want quad exhausts, you have Meisterschaft (what I have), Eisenmann, Brabus, and Wald. Keep in mind if you switch to quad exhausts, you'll have to pick up a quad diffuser and C63 brackets. Another common exhaust mod most do is a resonator delete. Most replace it with an X-Pipe such as 2.25 Magnaflow Tru-X, but you can go straight pipes or H pipe as well.

And welcome to MBWorld

Thanks, man for the information and the welcome. This is incredible and exactly what I was looking for.

Also, one question, do the X-pipes drone? A friend of mine was concerned by this idea.

Slight droning, but not really bad at all.

sure, you can fab anything with the right amount of money. This wouldn't really be that tough if you can find the tips. Then remold the diffuser.

Welcome to the forum!

Re: the IS-F type exhaust system, like Michael said, you can fab anything with money. This is actually possible as our cars have room in the diffusor area. Make sure you can get someone to make the right diffusor to make the exhaust look good. As for the mufflers, look in IS-F forums and see if anyone is selling their stock exhaust systems.

I know that Wald does this for the w212. I should probably talk to someone that works there or you think I should do it at a shop with experience?
