COMAND iPod Issue

So I jump into my car today and start my drive down to work and realize that my iPod Touch is not connecting to my COMAND system properly. The music plays, but it stays on that "connecting to device" screen with the time elapsing pie chart. I basically lose any control over the iPod, but it still plays whatever song I already have selected. I've ran into problems before but it just required the iPod to be connected to iTunes. This I've never had happen to me before. Anyone else experience this and if so, what did you need to do to fix it? It seems like it just can't make a complete connection to my iPod, rather it's treating it more like an auxiliary connection. I tried my iPhone as well, but it has the same problem so I'm assuming its the COMAND unit.

Did you try restarting your car?

I had issues with BT and my iPhone one day and it did the same thing (pie chart spinning forever). Restarted the car and it went back to normal.

I figured that might do it, but just in case it was a real problem, I could take my car to Hyatt this afternoon. I did a brief restart by getting out, locking it, then getting back in and just putting it on ignition, but it still had the same problem. Hopefully it will resolve itself around noon when I go home. I unplugged it for now so I'll try plugging it back in prior to restart. Thanks benyl.

This happened to me once w/ my Touch when I first bought the car. My problem was that my Touch was still locked. Once I unlocked it, things worked. I don't have my iPod with me otherwise I'd just try a quick experiment for you.

It's weird, my iPod has been working fine for the last few months when it last corrupted my iPod and I had to reformat it and install everything again. Never seen this before though, hopefully the couple of hours spent on its own will rectify the issue. I tried connecting it in the lock screen and in the home screen, but still had the same problem. When I connected it with the lock screen, it actually flipped over to the charging screen which is what I usually see when the car is on, but the COMAND screen still showed the pie chart.

There is a module in between the iPOD and the COMAND, I have seen issues with the modules failing causing problems with the communication between both the COMAND and the instrument cluster.
