Well, maybe look at it the other way....ours fits in the glovebox and will never need conditioner!! If there had been a choice up front and we couldn't have both, I would take "fit" over leather, but then, I wanted MBTex over leather too! ![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)
Don't know this for sure, but I would guess the leather binders came in the older cars, even within the model year. Probably a cost reduction sometime during 2009MY. All of you 2010 folks, what do you have?

I keep my leather container on the glovebox shelf but it will fit fine next to the spare tire also.

2012 C250 Coupe
I have a 2009 and mine is also Fabric. It appears 2008 has leather, 2009 has fabric, regardless of the country. I have mine in the glovebox as it fits, but I will think about putting in the the mesh in the passenger side footwell mesh.
