Service Manuals Leather Case too big for glove compartment
My Service manuals leather case is too big for the glove compartment. It would fit but when i shut the compartment it leaves indents on the case. Is everyone having this same problem or is there a way to put it in?

Yeah I tried once when I got the car, now it just slides back and forth on the rear seat (kind of annoying). Haven't found another good place to put it yet, thing is like a dictionary!

Hmmmmm.....leather? Mine is a fabric, sort of a ballistic nylon, but it fits just fine. Binding in....zipper facing out, and you can see a sunglass shell case right above it....door closes easily.

lol i was gonna say, "YOURS IS LEATHER?"
I dont find myself keeping the manual in the car at all, but if I was going to, it would be in the first aid kit cubby (I dont have the net as I have the P2 package).
on a side note, Lexus does manuals right, you get a leather cases and it comes with a pen on the inside.

Leather? Mine seems more like vynal, although softer than MB Tex. Mine does not fit in the glovebox so I kept it in the door pocket until finally moving it to the trunk.

Well, maybe look at it the other way....ours fits in the glovebox and will never need conditioner!! If there had been a choice up front and we couldn't have both, I would take "fit" over leather, but then, I wanted MBTex over leather too!
Don't know this for sure, but I would guess the leather binders came in the older cars, even within the model year. Probably a cost reduction sometime during 2009MY. All of you 2010 folks, what do you have?

I don't have the side sill nets in the trunk like the other poster mentioned... If you have the multimedia package you lose that little nook of space because the radio's amp is in the trunk...
I leave mine in the only place it will fit. On my bookshelf at home.

Mine is leather (well, leather-like at least) and it's in the same location. My salesperson put it there when I took delivery and she told me "It won't fit in the glove box so we like to put it here." I've put it between the console and the passenger seat after I'm done looking up something but after the next service, the dealership always stamps the book and puts it back in that footwell net. So I gave in. If that's where they want it, that's where it will stay!

Mine was one of the very last MY2009s that came out of Stuttgart. I was two weeks waiting for customs clearances after mine came off the assembly line, and there were a few 2010s for pickup when I picked mine up from the factory. I think it more likely has to do with features & options.

All the MB's I have had from what I can remember they were always in the passenger side by the feet in the cargo net. It fits perfectly in there and just assumed this was the place for it.

Mines fabric, Even my acura came with a leather or faux leather. But still it looks like leather, lol. Mines fit in the glove box. i also have to agree that our box is not too big, I just hate that divider in the middle.
