Changing the interior lighting?

Has anyone changed the interior lighting by chance? I think with a black interior, the yellow ambiance of the lights just dont go right (under door handles and under dash). I think a nice white would go perfect, but then you have that offset with the lighting on the dash (seat warmers etc.)

Just curious if anyone changed the lighting.

I replaced the W5W bulbs with 4300K LEDs from a prior MBworld group buy and the festoon in the rear dome light with Polarg M88. The interior now looks sharp compared to the dull yellow look from the original bulbs.

Here is a DIY for the interior.

For the front dome lights jump to post #48 instead of what was done in post #1.

Hey thanks for the reply. Sorry for not understanding the terminology, but which bulbs are the W5W bulbs? Are the the ones under the door handle and/or the dash (foot rests)?

I am trying to go for that subtle, white lighting. A good similarity would be the new CTS. The lighting on the dash, under the dash and door handles are a nice contrast with the interior.

Those are LEDs and would most likely be very difficult to replace. Think removing door panels, desoldering old LEDs, sourceing replacements and soldering them in. Not worth it in my book since thye are barely noticable. Now replacing all the bulbs with Polargs makes sense (after all I did it).
