GOOD NEWS! Official: New DI V6 coming to US
New DI V6 coming to US? http://www.autoblog.com/2010/05/07/o...6-an/#comments
quote:
"Update: Mercedes USA spokesman Rob Moran has confirmed that both the CL and S-class models in the U.S. will get the new twin turbo V8 in Q4 of this year with other models getting it in 2011. Models currently powered by a V6 engine will get the new V6 beginning in 2011."
The new 3.5 V6 is 60 degree instead of 90 degree. Not sure about the 3.0 V6. If the 3.0L is still 90 degree, then the 3.5L engine block may come from Infiniti VQ35??? (Since Daimler and Renault Nissan just exchanged equity)

306hp/272ft lbs.
Just have to put their 3.5L's on par with Lexus's and Nissan. Interesting how it mentions the VQ35. I highly doubt it will be the VQ35, but it might draw some inspiration from it since the partnership. Here's hopes it will be close to a VQ35 for future modding.

Introduction a 306 hp is only "at par" in 2011...
Toyota/Lexus
2GR-FSE in 06' IS350 (306hp & 277lb-ft)
Nissan/Infiniti
VQ35HR 07' G Sedan (306hp/268 lb-ft)
VQ37VHR 08' G coupe (330hp/270lb-ft)

It won't be 306 at the wheels, it will be 306 at the crank.

Well technically they don't need to change the C300's engine since it's on par with the 328i and the A4. All it needs is a little more torque and then it's fine.
They did make a particular not that the new 3.5L was made to be mated to 4Matic so it's possible they may release it with an AWD version so we should keep our fingers crossed.

the 328 auto does 0-60 almost a second faster then the 300 auto and gets better mileage doing it lol

No doubt both feel different the way they drive but considering the demographic who buy this car, I doubt 0-60 is their primary consideration.

I don't doubt that, but that difference is only really noticeable if you're doing spec racing. I've driven the 328i briefly and have a C300 and in regular acceleration they don't feel much different. It's only if you're really timing it that the differences come out.

but feelings wise, lol, yeah the c300's feel like rockets! im having so much fun with my loaner right now and the torque is really good

I'm sure they are because it's been mentioned in an article before. If you go on InsideLine i'm sure you can see it. I have a small hunch (and it's been somewhat alluded to in the InsideLine article) that the 3.5L will be the base engine and the Twin-Turbo will be put in the higher-end version.
If that's the case (which i'm really hoping for) then Mercedes is basically going to leapfrog the competition in horsepower and efficiency so let's all keep our fingers crossed that it's going to happen.

X3 and 2012 C coming soon
I think it was Motor Trend, but I will check again. There was an ugly concept picture of the C Class with it. The info may very well be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time a car magazine article missed the mark.

My SLK already has 300 HP.
The new engines will be in MY 2012 cars, the face lift C Class.
MY 2011 is confirmed to carry the same 3.0 L & 3.5 L V6s as available now per MBUSA Press release that came out 3-4 days ago.

The most recent information that I have comes from Autoblog which apparently talked to Rob Moran of Mercedes-Benz, and he confirms that V6 models will get an update beginning in 2011:
"Update: Mercedes USA spokesman Rob Moran has confirmed that both the CL and S-class models in the U.S. will get the new twin turbo V8 in Q4 of this year with other models getting it in 2011. Models currently powered by a V6 engine will get the new V6 beginning in 2011. "

Based on that information, I am going to assume that there will be new engines before 2015.
Edit: I forgot that others put that information up on this thread already. My bad, though I originally posted that information on another thread a while ago. Anyway the information looks solid to me if it's from an MBUSA official.

New C-Class To Hit Market In 2014:
http://www.benzinsider.com/2010/04/t...-2014-c-class/
"The facelifted C-Class is set to hit the market next year. The current W204 will be enhanced and have some minor exterior styling changes such as new alloy wheels, LED lights and front fascia. The interior will be updated together with some mechanical upgrades."
No doubt that sounds vague but it does provide some more solid confirmation. I'm certainly hoping that "mechanical upgrades" refers to new engines.

Just believe me. ha. NO, it's 100 percent honestly on the press MBUSA website. You have to be registered.
I will copy and paste the section on C Class (they give information like this for every 2011 model) :
"C-Class Sedan (on sale: July)
V6-powered C300 (228 hp, 221 lb-ft) continues in both Sport and Luxury models with available 4MATIC all-wheel-drive. C350 Sport Sedan (268 hp, 258 lb-ft) continue with new 17-inch 5-spoke wheels.
V8-powered C63 AMG (451 hp, 443 lb-ft) continues with available P31 package featuring 30 more horsepower, red painted calipers and lightweight forged pistons.
Sport sedans receive standard LED daytime running lights; models without bi-xenon headlights receive black headlamp inlays.
All models receive new headlight control switch and relocated ESP controls."
THat is not a face lift.
Believe what you want, but I'm telling you the truth and you only have to look at the past to back it up. However, sometime in 2011, the face lift car, a 2012 MY, will be out.
I hope maybe you believe me, but I just don't want your hopes dashed.
[QUOTE=MB300AMG;4072349]Mind posting a link? I went on the MBUSA website and there is no information about MY 2011 that I can see.
