Tried vinyl wrapping my grill....
So a couple weeks ago I ordered a c63 rep grill from ebay, but once I "bought it now" the seller said they had a shipment delay of the black background'ed (?) ones and it would be 3-4 weeks before they came in..
So my impatience got the best of me and i was set on painting the stocker for the mean time... got the grill off and chrome strips removed with no issue but then just couldnt bring myself to paint it.. I started picturing rock chips left and right and there is nothing that can get to my OCD more than rock chips on spray painted parts... so I decide to use some black vinyl I had laying around to cover it....
Long story short I ended up ripping the vinyl off and putting it back on the way it was... Vinyl is SO F'ING hard to work with! god it was all wrinkled in the corner areas and there were seams left and right and it just looked like crap...
Moral of the story is... Vinyl sounds like a good idea until you suck at working with it and end up wasting 3 hours of your life only to be back at square one.. probably shoulda just painted it
Is there anyone that has made a vinyl pattern set to trace? seems like somebody must have that little of time on their hands...

Well since you are so worry about rock chips and you can't vinyl the grill yourself since it's not coming out right, I guess your only other choice is to let someone else do it who is experienced at doing this type of work lol...but good luck with what you choose to do

You should get your stock grille profesionally painted at a body shop! They use quality paint/clear coat..it won't chip as easily as you think.. If you do a spray paint can job... It will most likely look like crap
