pics of cf vinyl wrapped sidemarkers

hey there people. i received my cf vinyl wrap today and wrapped up my sidemarkers because the orange lights are hideous. took me about an hour. here is a before and after pic with a horrible camera and no, i do not have the red pinstripe tape on my wheels anymore.
*note* i accidently scratched (4 to be exact) my bumper with the torx screwdriver while doing this modification.

AFTER

Unless I am misunderstanding that second photo.......I think the idea is to get a set with clear or lightly smoked lenses and wrap the frame and not cover the lens....that way the light can shine through......

It seems now you have no side markers at all....not a good idea, as you may find out in a roadside "meeting" one day.....or night!

Good thing you're not somewhere with a lot of older folks with diminished eyesight........oh, wait......Orlando!!

100% of cars in US and Canada do, so driver behavior on this continent is based on that expectation. In addition, it's a legal requirement.

The CF looks out of place there. It's just a chunk of CF in the middle of the bumper. (assuming light doesn't pass through).

I'm all for vinyl CF, I just don't think that's one of the parts I'd do.

ok its a safety feature, it obv helps other people see your car at night from a side angle blah blah.. but theres plenty of cars in the US that dont have side markers, does it mean they get into accidents all the time? and what about older model cars that didnt even come with side markers?? any1 with any taste knows the orange sidemarker is ugly!

Not sure why this issue seems so focused in New Jersey....I'll have to ask The Situation. But, there doesn't seem to be any amount of information or social conscience which penetrates you guys.

OK....one last try....it is a violation of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards administered by NTHSA and illegal to produce and/or sell new vehicles in the US without the side markers...the only ones running around are very old or produced in extremely low volume under an exemption. In order to get that regulation enacted, NHTSA had to demonstrate to the General Accounting Office that the cost/benefit was favorable and that the rule had a positive effect on safety. So, yes, the evidence showed it does make a difference; you can go back and review the Federal Register or check the rulemaking history with NHTSA.

As Senator Moynihan said, "You are entitled to your own opinion, but you are not entitled to your own facts."

And, you don't have to vinyl over a side marker....lots of people are quite happy replacing the yellow lens with clear or lightly smoked, either of which allows the light to be clearly seen at night.

Ok well honestly I think cf is ugly and over used.. From a legal stand point yes your rite its ilegal! But soo is my tints,no front plate, tinted tails, and noo side markers.. My side markers are black, bulbs taped up noo light shines thru.. Based all on looks! I never once got pulled over cuz my side markers were covered up.. And the reason idc is cuz I have a gold family member card and pretty much get away with most ilegal/traffic violations..

Don't like the vinyl CF looks cheap, go real CF or none at all. Serious get the smoked side markers fron E-bay they will look 1000% better.
