Service B [ Vancouver ]
The Service B cost in North Vancouver was approx $700
I also needed the two year brake fluid changed ($160).
I had both fog lights replaced after one burnt out.
Total cost for Service B after 2 years + 27,500 km = $860.00 CAN [ same US$ ]
The service was great for sure. It was seamless. Valet service. I received a B-Class as a loaner for a day and I have to honestly say it's the worst mercedes I've ever driven. What were they thinking!
Happy to have my C350 back. It's operating better than day 1.

Next time, it might be worth it for you to make the drive down to Seattle to Phil Smart Mercedes. I paid less than $500 for my service B and $80 for brake fluid change.
whoah! That's was expensive.. I was considering getting A1 at the dealers and they said the price should be all the same across the four dealers but when I called they were all different. Boundary MB seems to be the cheapest one though. Anyways, decided to get the services done at Advanced auto instead for half the price quoted by the dealer HAH!
Yes, B class is a stupid car.. I had it for a few days as a curtesy car and after the rainfall, opened the sunroof (more like folded), all the rain flew into the car, yuck! Don't want to drive it again...

If the half price is for oil change, brake fluid and cabin filter then that sounds fine but i rather pay a bit more knowing that everything was done correctly (at least I would expect that)

I don't think they have the diagnostic tools etc. I'm just getting oil change done there instead of doing the full service a because there isn't much to be done other than the oil change. However service b is more in depth so I would do it at the dealer as well.

Service A was about $350 CAN @ Boundary MB.
I'll probably get my next service done in richmond as suggested. Service B was a major one and there were slight issues with the car [ 3rd time I requested the squeeky folding mirrors to be fixed, so they ordered new motors for it after being unsuccessful the last 2 attempts ].

To all of you who get the service done in independent shops while still under warranty: Are you daft? MB technicians love to sell work whether it's warranty or not. When they go over the checklists they look for the most common problem points (that's the whole point of a service sheet) and spot the potential trouble before you complain about it. They simply request a shop foreman to approve the additional work (few other brands have shop foremen or shop managers whose job description includes keeping the techs honest) and guess what... you get proper maintenance.
Most Mercedes-Benz dealers are not like your neighborhood Honda dealers where techs are forbidden to up-sell warranty work. Mercedes service managers must hit specific warranty sales targets as well as specific retail (you pay) and internal (new & used vehicle prep) sales targets. So you think you're saving a few bucks? Wait until your car breaks-down after it run out of warranty and you'll regret not having given the dealership the opportunity to keep your car properly maintained. You may also influence a warranty decision when maintenance records are requested (ever experienced flooding due to the independents not knowing which drains to keep absolutely clean?).
MB dealerships are constantly running mystery shoppers in order to ensure the work specified in the service sheets is done as it is supposed to be done, and also to ensure that all work and processes comply with the ISO 9000 standards, which attempts to ensure high quality service and, at the very least, ensures traceability in case something goes wrong (are independent shops regulated like that? I doubt it)
What makes you all think that independent techs will do better than factory trained techs? specially when even they (MB techs) get challenged by all the complexity of these vehicles. Save your money.. maintain it at the dealership.

Like I always say: Being able to buy a Mercedes-Benz doesn't mean you can afford it.
Phoned around a few places to get the prices for service B, and discovered the local dealers do vary in price as opposed to what one of the dealers said where everybody has equal prices. Found a local shop that I've used before (MB EuroMotors) that I've had great experiences with, and they are about half the price of the main dealers. Will be taking my car there for the B service + brake fluid and will report back.
