Amber eyebrows - good idea or bad idea?
I was upgrading my eyebrow bulbs to bright white, and decided to try a few different options. I was disappointed with the upgraded white ones (Philips Blue Vision) as they were more or less the same as the stock ones.
The other issue I found was, because I have xenons as my low-beams, any white eyebrows tend to blur into 1 light source from a distance, given they are the same colour, albeit of different brightness. So, I thought I'll try a different colour for the eyebrows altogether. That way they will be distinctive, even from a distance. Now, a colour of choice would have been true blue, but that's not legal. So, why not amber? Even at night and from a distance, you can distinguish the almond shaped eyebrow from the low-beams. You can see from the pics what I mean by the amber standing out more.
What do you guys think?
I have even tried dual bulbs on each side - white on the inner bulb and amber on the outer bulb. Looks ok - a nice kind of blended look. But again, at night and from a distance, the impact is not as strong as all amber.
BTW, this was only a trial. I only changed one side to see the difference, and then reverted to white everywhere.

I like the all amber eyelids to be honest... but then again, I also loved the older S-class that had a frosted headlight with essentially three colors blended together... a combination of standard bulb in the center, HID next to it blending into amber at the top if I recall. Very sexy. Did you update your HID bulbs or are those stock?

interesting proposition, I'd still go with the white ones though. I would rather play with different colors in the fog light, I liked the yellow idea somewhat. Depends on what color you have though, IMO. Nice contrast with a white car.

Did you consider (and discount) the Polarg L-01. It's apparently 3 times brighter than the M-4. I see the L-01 on all the websites that sell Polargs, but nobody on this forum seem to have tried them. I do want to try them, but only after some recommendation, as it will cost me an additional $30-$40 shipping costs to the UK. God knows how much I've already spent trying different types of W5W bulbs - hence my experiment with the amber.

Wow that is high shipping. I didn't even know about the L-01 all the pics I've seen of the M-4's have looked good. I picked up some Hyper White 194's from a local auto place that mostly deals with rice racers was assured they were very white and bright but were really no different than stock (no returns sorry ). Hoping to match my Luminics.

Yeah I was quoted that much for shipping from a US website - mind you it was Fedex or UPS priority service.
I put a link on another thread - racinglab.com or extremewhites.com I think. Just google polarg L-01, and you'll find loads of suppliers in the US. It's about $16 a pair - more expensive than standard M4, but then again it claims to be 3 times brighter.
Same experience here. Tried a few different European ones, including the Philips Blue Vision ones which claimed to match the colour intensity of the xenons, but did they heck
So I do want to try those L-01 now, as a last straw.

I have discovered something new, through my never-ending quest to find the perfect eyebrow look for my car.
We all know that there's 2 bulbs on each side of the eyebrows which light up together. But what I discovered, is when you turn the light switch to the parking position ('P' left or right - it's anticlockwise from the '0'), then only the outer bulb on the selected side lights up, rather than the entire eyebrow.
I guess that's just to save the battery from running down when you leave it on park. I never used the parking function on the lights anyway, so it's a pretty useless discovery for me, and I'm sure same goes for most of you guys, but I thought I'd share it anyhow.
