What do you think Mercedes should do?
Regarding the styling of the new cars [c300 ]. It`s my opinion that Mercedes should always make evolutionary improvements and not revolutionary. The C Class is selling well in a bad economy.
The high value resale of Mercedes IMO has been based on them not trashing the previous model, you could buy a 6 year old Mercedes and it still looks good, so the resale is up because its still in demand. BMW went to a tecky scifi design some years back and has spent time toning it down, not that it was bad it was just to radical.
IMO MB should always advance in mechanical improvements but conservative in styling. Whats your take on it?

Well as an owner of the current body style, I think they should keep this body style for as long as possible
There is a marked depreciation downturn once a new body style is released.. Especially when you are dealing with the "elite MB owners" who must have the latest and greatest - cars that appear "old" are worth considerably less. It's all about appearances with most of us folks.. The prestige a MB offers is only valuable when others perceive the car as brand spankin new. Now this is what a lot of owners think because we are enthusiasts and know the model years like the back of our hands... but to the general public a, for instance, w203, looks just like any other MB and you "clearly must be rich" to own one.
I'm really hoping this body style lasts 5-6 years with only minor updates.

Yes, 2012 MY will be a face lift.
MY 2015 will be the complete new design out sometime in 2014.
So we are still 4 years away from a completely new design hitting the sales floor.
