The design is far from locked down but local motoring scribes expect us to see something close to this testing on our roads shortly. They also expect a similar teaser to possibly be shown on upcoming motor shows in Europe. If we have to finally dump the traditional grill & hood star, I really like the new grill & simple headlight integration that modernises the "peanut" merged lights in a very subtle fashion.

One reason I was drawn to the 2009 C is it's lower and therefore far more appealing belt line. So far, the designs shown here look like they've raised it again. Sorry, can't accept that move: may be aerodynamic, but it's a redesign disaster, to my taste.

Don't give up too soon!! The grey car is an artist's conception, and the increased tumblehome does seem to give the impression of a raised beltline (line defining the top of the door lower, at the base of the side glass). But check out the A-pillar and windshield touchdown to cowl and front fender...it sure looks like carryover PLPs (principal locating points) would be behind that sheetmetal. The red car looks like a photoshop of a W204, so the belt is the same there. Artists like to draw higher belts because it gives what they think is a cooler chopped look (think Chrysler 300C). Stay optimistic!! There is a history of new car designs looking odd on day one and then "growing" on the market very well...therefore, the talent of the designer who knows how to make that happen.

Most W204's in SA are currently not looking as those in the US. I always thought those here were lacking something styling wise, therefore my choice of the AMG package here. The new proposed one has impack, but do I smell BMW ?.
