New to MB question about DSW tires
Hello all, I just got C350 Sport and thinking of replacing stock Michelins to Conti Extreme Sport DWS. This is my first MB, I have an 04 M3 Coupe and other bimmers and need a to get a bit more performance from C350, but considering winter weather too. Do you have any experience with DSW?
I would go with Pilot Sport PS2, but need something for all seasons and colder weather in winter. Thanks!

Welcome! DWS are great tires and proof Continental can make some! Check the surveys for Ultra High Performance All Season tires on tirerack.com and you will see how highly rated they are. But, first, decide on your personal strategy.
If you live where there is significant snow or subfreezing temperatures, you probably should get dedicated winter tires. No all-season tire can match a winter tire. In that case, the DWS advantage in snow/ice may not be worth trading off the dry weather capability (steering response/cornering stability) of the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus or PS2. If however, you are determined to make it through on one set of all season tires, it would be hard to do better than DWS.
PS2s will become ice skates in the winter, but outstanding for above-freezing, dry conditions.

Thanks
Thanks guys, I live in DC area, not much snow here, except for last year, so will go with all season tire. For winter I am not concerned so much about snow, but rain and ability of rubber to handle freezing temps. I bought this C 350 for family mostly, so not too crazy about making it too sporty. I have dedicated M3 for that purpose.

Yes, I know this is incredibly unusual, but too hard to resist!. The DWS should serve your needs very well.........until this happens again!

do the sidewalls of these tires hold up better than the OE Continental ContiProContacts? I'm asking because I have had to replace more than a couple front tires due to sidewall bubbles having the size of golfballs and am more than a little bit disappointed with the brand.

They suck - will ruin the handling of your car. Buy is you like the feel of squirming sidewalls, extreme sidewall flex etc
These are conti's version of cheap tuner tires - you get what you pay for.

Here's what folks thought after two million miles....
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...jsp?type=UHPAS
One of the top two...better in the wet/snow...not as good in the dry.

For the benefit of searches.
Yeah I read the reviews as well...should have paid more heed to the lousy handling / soft sidewall feedback.
There is a 60 day return policy / satisfaction but because I got them from tire-rack and I'm in Canada its a total hassle.
Listed them on Craigslist - they will be a great tire for commuter car. I have Dunlop snows on staggerd oe 17s as well

2009 C300 Sport
I've only lived back in Southern Maryland for two months now, but the DWSs I put on my C300 Sport before leaving Texas have performed wonderfully in the recent heavy rains and the dry handling is remarkably well also.
I haven't operated the DWS's in snow yet, but I'm sure this winter will provide some experience for that.
