Started experiencing problems surround light

Started experiencing problems surround light
Has anyone experienced some issues with their ""surround" lightïng (fog lights and eyelids)?
I have the "enable surround light" setting on, but lately when I unlock the car the outside lights don't turn on anymore, the interior lights do turn on. It's isn't all the time either, sometimes they do turn on.
At first I thought that it wasn't dark enough (outside) but I have noticed it happen in the late evenings as well.
I will bring it in to the dealer but because it's random I think probably end up working when i bring it in (with my luck). Anyone have this issue?
