If you use 3M Exterior Mounting tape, you will not see gaps. When I removed my stock AMG spoiler, I noticed it was held on by the same type of tape that seems to have the same thickness.

Some forum members have reported spoilers coming loose at speed when attached only with tape, yes even 3M. Attaching with a bead of urethane, in addition to the tape, will provide much greater security. The high-end independent MB/BMW shop I use strongly recommends adding a bead of urethane, and they use MB's urethane product.

This is not just cosmetic. Think of the people in the cars behind you.
