Here's another pic. Besides movies, videos and songs I now have a huge gps, can surf, post, check email, study... hell just about anything you'd do on a computer. Of course none of this is done while driving, I just seem to find myself always waiting in the car for wifey because she loves to shop and hates to drive.

Haha, I knew the rearview would come up. Its a monitor mirror used for the back up camera. It was supposed to be temporary but I lost contact with the guy that was going to put a screen in the factory mirror. If anyone knows of someone who can do this especially if there in HI let me know.

Check with your mercedes dealership. My friend has had his factory rearview sent out by his dealer to Renntech to retrofit the Valentine V1 scanner into the mirror, looks 100% oem. I am sure they can do something similar for you, but at a price of course.
At first I thought that was the dragon speedtrap/red light camera gps warning mirror. It looks like you have no blindspots now though!

I know... Holy thread resurrection, Batman!
But...
I have been brainstorming how to secure my iPad2 in this same location for weeks now and have only found inelegant solutions. How did you secure that? I am looking at putting mine in bare, without a case. The two rubber stops at the bottom of that opening pop out and reveal two small holes... I was thinking is just making a bracket that inserts into those and secures the bottom of the iPad2 against the opening...
It sits on that ledge, and stays up there on its own when the car is parked. Its like the spot was made for it, but some type of bracket or anchor is definitely needed for driving.
I found a Blackberry brand Bluetooth stereo receiver to avoid having any cables plugged into the iPad2. I have the little receiver plugged into power and AUX in the glove box and use the iPad2 now to stream music to car stereo.

I would like to know if the delay I'm seeing/hearing is a UMI issue or just a reality when streaming Bluetooth audio from a device running video.
