Just purchased a 2007 c230 sport with 31000 miles. It has michelin tires that are not worn. I hear very loud road noise when I drive no matter what the speed. The dealer said that that is because of the high performance tires? WHen I mean loud I mean I have to turn my radio up pretty loud not to hear the road? WHen I slow down and come to a stop it goes thum, thum thump? I thought a mercedes was a quiet car? ANy thoughts on what I should have checked it is still under warranty.

Welcome to the world of Mercedes Benz! Your car is a W203 chassis, so you may want to post there.
At 31k miles, your tires are either rather new, or fairly well worn. Althought I normally like Michelin tires, I had a set on my car (Pilot Sport A/S) that got really noisy after only about 18k miles. I still had tread left, but I replaced the tires because I could no longer stand the noise. It sounded like I had a failed bearing.
I cannot say what is the problem on your car, but I would check the tires carefully.
