Brabus Smartcar

was at an audi dealership yesterday with my friend, we were getting the turbos on his s4 checked out, and while we were waiting we walked around the lot, and saw this

we were laughing pretty hard, this thing was covered in brabus badges, we didnt know what to think

so i went and searched last night and found out this thing has sport suspension, paddle shifters, and goes for nearly 20k! and only 70 hp, though they originally planned on a turbocharged engine giving it nearly 100hp

just thought it was interesting

Brabus Smart has been available for a while now and nearly every SMART dealership carries at least one.

I took a smart convertible as a loaner for a day...and turned out having it for a week waiting on a part. For the most part, it was a great little car but had the absolute, worst, worst, worst transmission you could ever imagine. Given its size and a halfway decent transmission, 70 HP is plenty.

the tranny is actually very solid in these things... it is essentially an electrically assisted manual trans.. hence the very slow shifting

I wasn't speaking of the reliability but the fact that it would leave your a$$ hanging at the worst possible time. There is no excuse for a car to decide it wants to upshift when you floor it to make a left turn with traffic coming...it makes that 2 second shift seem like a freaking eternity!

It's funny that some people took your question to mean acceleration! I took it to mean impact

it's a great city car and the Brabus package gives it a nice look without being overdone (though I agree it could use less Brabus badging).

I lived in Europe a long time ago, and I really like the Smart roadster/coupe. I hope Smart/MB brings that model back -- it has a lot of potential as an economical and fuel efficient small sporty coupe.

no offense to anyone who owns one, but I really don't see the point of the Smart. For the money, you could get a small car such as a VW Golf, Ford Fiesta, or Mazda 2. you'd have a real car, actual protection in a crash and similar MPG for nearly the same money if not less.

If the car listed for like 10 or 12K, or got like 50 MPG, then I could see why someone would make sacrifices in other areas.

But with those you couldn't park like this

Those are a couple friends of mine goofing around.

And this is by far the best Smart around...TBone's Brabus Smart with Brembo BBK, HREs, dropped on Swift springs.

In europe and Japan these things are prime for parking and gettin through narrow roads...its either that or a moped! I'd love to get one of those smarts and use it as my Golf Cart, lol.
