When I go out to my car when its dark out and open the door, the interior lights come on but they only stay on for 5 seconds, then they all go out. Even with the door still open. Thats barely enough time for me to even get in the car and get seated.

My owners manual says that if the door is left open, that the interior lights remain on for 5 minutes. Do I need to adjust something. I read my manual and could not find anything for adjusting the amount of time that the interior lights stay on.

Is this normal? Do anyone else's interior lights go off in 5 seconds after the door is opened. And they dont even "fade" out, they just abruptly shut off.

One of those buttons on the overhead panel has something to do with the interior lights coming on when the doors are opened. Might want to take a close look at it.

 

The switch is on. I assume that everyone elses C300 does this too. It just does not seem normal to open the door and all the lights go off in 5 seconds.

Have a 2012 C350 and the interior lights don't come on anymore. I think my three year old pushed something.

 

Could be the button JimPap mentioned above. If it is turned off, lights will not come on no matter door is open or closed.
