New Seat Cover Under Warranty!

Hey Everyone!

So I took my car in yesterday because of a small oil leak from a seal on the back of the motor. It was nothing major. They just had to reseal it. I was talking to the service writer and showed him my seat and how the material was cracking. It was cracking to the point where you could see the cushion inside. It was obviously cracking do to the way I sit. I asked him if he could do anything, if not no biggie. They ended up calling me and saying though could replace it under warranty! The car's at the dealer today getting the seat cover replaced.

I guess it never hurts to ask! YMMV

Well I believe the dealer gets paid by Mercedes for warranty work, so they are probably willing to do anything they can get away with without going over board.

I have had MB tex with tons of hours in the seat (probably about 4 years of use of wear, it shouldn't be like that, it was in material defect in the seat. I just had the leather on my escalade replaced because I "Didn't like how fast it was wearing" and they replaced it no problem. I think you should be more shocked that a mercedes dealer actually did it for you rather than someone replacing the seat cover because it wasn't wearing as well as it was designed to.

That is correct, as long as your car is under warranty, the dealer is willing to do it at no charge. I got a 2008 keyfob with it used so often, it start to cracks. I called the dealer and they already got the new keyfob for me to pickup. However, they can't replace my spare keyfob due to nothing is wrong with it; they said they can't write it off. So glad it's under warranty.
