free 1st 5000 miles inspection

My car is almost 5000 miles now. I heard that MBUSA was offering a free inspection to all the new cars at 5000 miles. Has any of you done this before? Is it necessary for me to bring the car in?

When you buy a new Mercedes, they have you bring it back for an "introductory service" between 1000-3000 miles. (I think those are the right mileage numbers.) It's free and it's intended to introduce you to the service department while they just make sure that the car is working as it should (no error codes, etc) after it had a chance to break in. This service is listed in your owner's manual.

If they're doing an inspection specific to 5000 miles, I'm not aware of it.

I brought my car for a free inspection after I hit 1K miles for what balticgreen said "free introductory service... But I also received an email from my local Mercedes dealership several months after I brought my car for the introductory service... They will be running free inspection plus carwash if you sign up in advance which I did... They were also offering free lunch and raffle giveaways where I actually won a $50 gift car for their gift shop... I think it's one way of luring customers in the door

iT depends on how many customers are ahead of you but once they take your car in the service area it can be for another couple of hours... iT's a given average from my experience

They should have told you about it when you purchased your car... It's also in your maintenance booklet: 1st visit between 1,000-3,000 miles is free as well as for your 1st tire rotation

Make sure you watch out for dealer coupons in your area... Some dealers would even honor other authorized MB coupons so be in the look out!

You mean besides paying for an overpriced oilchange and doing it 10,000 miles early?

Updates: So I brought my car in to the dealership today. Have the recall done. And ask about the free inspection. My SA told me MB used to do the 5000 free inspection , but they've stopped doing that. But if you asked, depending on how you dealership is, they will give you an inspection.
