My Subwoofer Enclosure is finally done! (Pics)
Well I've been lingering on this site for quite some time - always learning and enjoying the great wealth of posts!
Now it's my time to pay back!
I have a 2008 C230 4-Matic
I finally had my stereo updated.
I had a custom made subwoofer enclosure made, as I couldn't find ANYTHING on the market, besides universal sub boxes (ugly)
Check this out - Looks almost OEM
I now have a JL Audio 10" Sub " W series", have added an Alpine Monoblock amp that below the spare tire cover for a nice clean install.
Makes a huge addition to the stereo..
Car goes Boom!

Thanks!
Oh I forgot to mention, I paid about $380 for the enclosure.
It was custom made - it took about a week just for them to make the box
It's made of fiberglass and then wrapped in carpeting to match the rear trunk liner.
I know comparable models are a bit cheaper but they don't fit as nice as this one

Well done! Great choice in subwoofer and the enclosure looks incredible. Whoever made it did a great job. I just installed a 10W3, XD 600/1, and custom fiberglass enclosure in my other vehicle. It is AMAZING how good one 10" sub can sound.

I gotta admit when I read the tiltle of the thread, I expected to see a big sloppy half *** done piece of work...
That looks awesome, dosen't take up much trunk space and it sounds like the amp is even placed out of the way and in an unused area...and you even kept your Weathertech mat in place...
Very, very well done!

It wasn't a store it was my audio guy actually.
The problem is that it takes so long to make one at a time.
But he said if there was enough demand he would invest in a mold!
Who knows maybe someone can put together a group buy.
I have to find out how many he would have to make.

The wires are behind the sub that go under the trunk liner panel, then run under the spare tire area to the amp thats mounted in the empty space to the right of the spare tire..
I will try and take some pics..
Of course they had to run the Audio output from the radio to the trunk, and power was sourced from the main fuse panel in the right hand side of the trunk.
Very clean and out of the way.
I was considering updating the speakers, but not required. It's perfect now!
Also I don't have the MM Screen system. I have the base model 4" screen but at the same time they added the aftermarket video module so I have NAV touchscreen and 4 Video inputs - including the rear view camera on the 4" Screen..
I will post pics later
