Everyone in the thread. You need to stand on the brake and get your RPMs into your powerband before you launch. 0-60 from idle RPM is completely wrong.

This is a correct launch

You don't have 420 TQ at 1,000 RPM. You can torque launch and you should.. you just can't floor the car off the line. Flooring the car outside the powerband is far slower than 70% gas off the line inside the powerband. Performing a correct launch isn't so simple as just stomping the gas, that's why everything from a Corvette to a Murcielago have launch assistance of one form or another. Though with bald tires.. well.. buy new tires.

I tried to do the launch control but the car won't seem to let me.
I did turn off esp but when I push the brakes and gas the car wants to go foward. Does the C300/350 even have launch control?

I've done some research and I guess our cars don't have them unless you force the car to do it lol.

We must not be watching the same video. The one you posted you are at idle when your acceleration begins. Here's what I captured from the beginning of your launch.

I've been meaning to shoot some video for months now, maybe after I finish up with work today I'll shoot a launch and a drive-by.

My dynolicious numbers:

0-60: 5.72 sec
Peak hp: 231

C350 w power chip and sprint booster.
I didn't enter in the drivetrain loss percentage tho. So hp should measure higher right? What do I put for drivetrain percentage loss? 18%?

to launch a automatic like how that video is doing with a stick is alot more complicated you must either power brake it to 3k rpm or neutral drop it (which i definitely wouldnt recommend...) this is assuming you guys are all automatic..

Never neutral drop your car.

Its a freaken benz it isnt suposed to be a 1/4 mile machine. If you wanted a 1/4 mile machine you should have bought a mustang and taken the extra money and added some mods.

The new 5.0 is easy to get into the high 10's now.

Who lives in the Riverside/I.E./San Bernadino/O.C. area? I have mods and want to race to compare stock and other modded c350. Legal race of course...
