Does Adaptive Transmission Really work and make a big difference?!?!?
HI,
I just bought a Certified 2008 C300 with 23K on it.
I find that the transmission shifts quite early disallowing for a peppy driving experience and almost feels a bit sluggish. I had the dealer reset the adaptive transmission and I was wondering how dramatic is it? will I notice a huge change as I drive it more?
The reason I am so concerned is because I took it into the dealer to get a seatbelt clip replaced and they gave me a 2010 C300 as a loaner and the difference in the acceleration was night and day.
did they make changes to the 2010s to give them a more sporty drive?
any insight is very much appreciated.
thanks,

I would expect the reason the loaner was better is that people drive the crap out of loaners. If you drive your car gently it will settle back into it's lazy ways. Such is adaptive transmission. I wish they had given us switchable maps.
Make sure that your car has the latest transmission software flash. It has seen many upgrades.
