Backlight on the Light Knob

Random question, couldn't find an answer in the search.

I have a 2009 C300. When you are driving at night, the knob that changes the headlights from auto, to fog, etc, etc, is that lit up for you? Mine's always been dark. So when I'm driving, I don't know what setting I'm on until I turn on an inside light to see.

Sorry if that sounds confusing, but just wondering if something's wrong with my car, or if this is the same on everyone elses. So basically, I can't see what headlight mode I'm in because there is no backlight for that knob. Just the little green and orange circles.

I thought so to but after a few weeks, I was pretty well accustomed to working it by feel. Haven't thought much about it since then.

Leave it on auto and don't worry about where the knob is. Unless the weather is bad and you need the fogs.

Yea, just leave it on auto. But you are right, that part should be lit up.

I never paid close attention to it until now it was mentioned here

I have always left it on auto and I just feel it when I needed to turn on my fogs
