This is kind of a pisser- in FL we have lots of bugs and this weekend I had one hit the grille and a little spot of plasti-dip came off >
I can probably spot-touch-up the area (about the size of a pencil eraser) but still sucks.

Hey sorry to bump an old thread. So i plasti diped my grill and think i used the wrong stuff or im retarded. cleaned the grill and had to do SEVERAL coats, like a can and a half (10 coats+) for it to cover all the chrome.
I was in enclosed room with seperate A/C unit to keep the humidity down and limit dirt and such (its been raining the last 3 days).I had very good lighting so it was very apparent the coats were going on evenly and chrome glare was apparent. I did long even strokes from atleast a foot away and waited 20 mins in between coats. its not so much matt but textured like a hand tools grip - Not bad but not the look im going for. Given i had a few beer thru the process.... I think i might have been too far away and the spray particles "splattered"
At work now but i gotta check the cans when i get back, but it was def plati-dip brand matt paint. I went to several auto parts places, home depots and finally fouind it at Lowes. Anyone in the northern VA area know where to get the right stuff.

Has anyone done just the slats and left all the chrome on a palladium silver C? I'm thinking of doing my grille, but the only pics I've found on a palladium silver have been fully blacked out grilles.
Also, has anyone blacked out only the top and bottom fins, so that it kinda looks like the new CLS AMG grille with just a single fin and star?

Hey guys. Sorry for starting up an old thread, but I am new to this forum and I would greatly appreciate some input. I have a white 2005 S55 AMG. Now that it is 7 years old, its starting to look a little dull, and I would really like to freshen it up a little bit. I was thinking of using black and white plasti-dip around the car. Does anybody have any ideas? I was thinking of black around the emblems, and some black and some white accents on the grille? Also, I'd like to paint the stock 18-inch wheels. Maybe all black? Or all white? Or maybe even black with white rim, or vice versa. Any, and I really mean any, feedback, whether negative or positive, please tell me. Thanks guys.
