plasti-dip

Sorry for starting up a new thread. I was planning on plasti-dipping various parts of my car, and it just occurred to me the danger of inhaling the toxic chemicals. Has anyone thought of this? What do you guys propose I do? Simple mask probably won't do the job.

Spray your parts outside on a clear, no wind day.... and don't point directly at your face and you should be fine.
I have used the product a number of times and Im not dead or have a horn growing from my forehead.

I tried to document as I went along... so here are some pictures!
Masking
Painting (I didn't know I was supposed to remask after each coat... so I used a razor at the very end)

Looks good. I love the stuff. You could have popped the chrome off to make it easier.

anyone have problems w the star emblem on the trunk? I used the club lexus thread as a guide but when pulling the dried plastidip off from the center part of the star it'd always pull a bit off the star itself.
I noticed that the center of the star is really tight to the car (probably where the pins are?)
I'm maybe guessing I can try masking off the inside part of the star and removing in between coats to avoid that?

Persian, I would take the wheels completely off the car... and get the plasti-dip into the wheel well as well... and it'll give you a chance to clean the rims out completely (and not use aluminum foil?)
gotta be honest here, but I couldn't help laugh when I saw the aluminum foil... (very creative!)... first thought was "that is one rough rotor!"

Haha yeah, the foil was kinda weird. Thanks for the advice, Eskimomice. I redid the wheel, and used newspaper this time. MUCH easier. The wheel would come out much better if I took the wheel off, but I don't have any jacks to keep the car up. Also, I'm only a teen, so I don't want to stand the car up, and accidentally do something stupid. Might sound weird, I'm just a little nervous, being as I don't really know what I'm doing. After redoing the wheels now, the lip looks better. In the above pictures, it looks a little unnatural/strange. I'll post pictures after I take some.
