Whos put their C away for winter?
Its snowing buckets up here in Canada and I put the C away as I dont have cash for winter tires nor do I want to tkae off my cf lip. Anyone else have to do this? I miss it already

I just slapped on some alpin pa3's on my stock 18in amgs. Handles the snow no problem. Its my only car so i had to get tires. I did convince the dealer to pay for them. I got my c in september with ricer summers on it. I said there was no way im buying a cpo with those tires. They cut me a cheque for $1200 CDN that day lol. Glk with bald tires traded for c350 with 2 sets of brand new rubber. Straight trade. Never happier!

Unless you have a C63, I don't see the point of storing the car for winter. A good set of winter tires and defensive driving is all you need. But yea, if you can't afford winter tires, you better not go out in a snow storm.

A decent set of winter tires aren't too expensive, plus, they should last about 3-4 years if you don't leave them on 24/7. Also, what car do you use instead of the c-class?
I got a set of great winter tires from Costco for around $125 a piece and they are great. $500, come with a 5 year, 80,000 mile warranty for tread, free mounting, lifetime balancing, and covers against flat and/or rim damage due to tire failure. I know $500 may seem like a lot, but it will certainly last you a long time. And if you look at what it costs you to store your car and keep a second, it is much cheaper.

I share my mom's 99 Ford Explorer and my dad's 2010 Ram laramie. I work for them so we commute together so its no biggie. I picked up my C in 2008 and it hasn't seen a winter yet. Just hit 15,000kms the other week before I put it in for storage.

Maybe it's just me, but part of the appeal of a Mercedes is it's impeccable safety record.
Easy for me to say because I live in Florida, but winter driving is definitely more dangerous and I want myself and my family to be in the safest possible car.

ive been driving my car during winter i live in calgary, and its not bad at all, been using all seasons and its not bad. wont throw winter cause ill barely drive it, the salt and rocks are soo bad up here.

Like I said in my first post, I dont want to take my CF lip off every season as the car is already a plow without one on. Plus, the gravel and salt kills any car and Ive already had my grill repainted once, don't want to do it again.

My SO is using the C as his DD now and I've got a MDX which is perfect for our winter travels 
we often go skiing up North so my ride the perfect ride for the tough weather and all the ski gear we have !!

Been using Bridgestone Blizzak for all but 3 of the past 27 years. LOVE them. On both an Acura Integra and a Mazda6 wagon, I have never even approached getting stuck on snow, deep snow, or ice. On many occasions I've passed and/or pulled away from AWD and 4WD vehicles. I haven't (yet) bought a set for the Merc, but I am thinking about it. (last winter was first with car, and I've been working remote for 18 months)
