New custom lip project
So I've been interested in getting a front lip for the C and have so far been only somewhat interested in the current available options. I like the JL lip the best as it sticks down the least, but I wanted something even more subtle as well as something that protruded south even less.
So, being they type of person I am, I decided I would embark on a project to create a new type of lip that would suit my needs.
I would start with a foam prototype and (hopefully) will get time this week to scan it into Catia and get a digital model polished up. After that I can have our fancy rapid prototype machine mill a perfect model.. (OR skip that step and create a reverse image (mold) and use it to inlay fiberglass or CF, or directly pour in some urethane for a solid plastic version..
I haven't figured out which way to go with the creation of it just yet, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.
So far I have created a foam model of what I'm looking to do, with some minor tweaks pending and can any further changes can be done digitally..
Anyway, let me know what you think of the look/shape/etc...
As far as my ability to produce a few of these to sell to forum members, I have thought about it and in theory will be possible. We'll see how the prototype process goes as well as my access to materials and mill time etc..
Check out the pics, let me know what you think!

Haha easy partner! I think the last pic where it oddly sticks out misrepresents the idea due to the colors being so contrasting. We'll have to see how it looks in black, perhaps shorten it up a bit..

MBWorld Fanatic!
If someone could take the typical aftermarket lip, enlarge it and reshaped it so that it forms a cap over the bumper's existing winglets, it would look really nice. It eliminates the double chin look and makes it look cleaner.
