HID lighting for noob

new to HID's but from what ive seen and heard they make a drastic difference. There are many threads on HID's which can get very confusing. So does anyone have a difinitive answer to a cost effective and quality product. I would like them to be as bright as possible as well as whiteish. any help would be appreciated.

This topic has been covered many times. I will tell you the answer. You have two options, both from ddm. If you want really white get the digital slim 35w 4500k. This is the closest to factory. If you want brighter get the 55w ones, some have required error cancelors some have not. You should order the type 3 error cancelers just to be safe because it's only a little more money. With 55w some color gets washed out so some people get a slightly higher Kelvin rating. Install is pretty straight forward, do the passenger side first because there is a lot more space. After that you should be able to breeze through the drivers side. I would drill the wholes in the dust caps after you test everything to make sure your happy. If you have any more questions I would be happy to answer, I have installed kits in many vehicles and its nothing too scary. I wear gloves when I do my installs because touching a bulb with your hand will ruin it, at least drastically reduce it's life.

So far it has been hit or miss, so I mean you can buy them upfront and if you dont use them sell them or try and do the install and if you need them order them

If its a 55w kit, you will not need error cancelers. Or rather, you "should" not need error cancelers. My 55w digital slim kit from ddm does not need error canceler or wiring harness and it works flawlessly. However, other people that reported that they needed error eliminators for their lights to work, or to stop them from premature shutdown. I guess its really luck of the draw. If you willing to take the risk and skimp it, just order the 55w kit, if not, play it safe and get the cancelers.

As far as a error eliminator needed for the fog lights, there is an error reporting system for them as well, they also use 55w bulbs, but I wouldn't recommend 55w for fogs as they concentrate heat in a more concentrated area, even though the heat is less intense than halogen heat, it is more concentrated, thus, could lead to problems.

Simple answer, 35w HID kit and error eliminators are the only way I would suggest you go for the fogs. Headlights can be 55w or 35w, error eliminator needed for 35w kit, and you can chance it on the 55w. The error eliminators you should use are type 3.

Yeah i also got the 35W, cancellers from DDM. Just did my fogs (1hr.) and although they are bright (and white as opposed to yellowish) I was anticipating that they would be light up more surface.

Anyway they are on and have to say that this was pretty easy. Aside from the things already mentioned above and other trheads, make sure you get the HID adapters.

I got mine of ebay http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...=STRK:MEWNX:IT. Other sites will have it for triple the price (after adding shipping)

when using those adapters you do have to snap of some minor pieces, after that its a cakewalk.

^ disagree. I just installed the DDM 35w 4500 kit and the difference over the stock bulbs is staggering. The color is as close to OEM as you can get and the light output looks very similar. The cutoff is not as sharp, but hey its safe for other drivers and lights up the road and looks 10x better.

If you don't have the oem lighting package, I highly recommend these.
