Arjy, Sportstick, Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Arjy, the fact that you have gone through several winters without any troubles with 4matic would actually suggest that it is a useful option even if it is hard to tell when it is on and when it is off. I gather from Sportstick experience that one can use RWD but good winter tires are a must. Standard all season tires with RWD would not cut it.
Did anybody drive C350 with automatic transmission RWD in snowy winter?
I did a winter in Germany with the C350 auto and all-season tires, and only had difficulty once or twice. Once on a low speed (30KPH) steep hill climb where the snow hadn't been cleaned, the car in front of me came to a full stop to turn left, and after I tried to restart I couldn't gain enough traction to climb up, and had to reverse and cut down a side street to an alternate route. The other time was driving through a blizzard, I don't imagine anyone in all season would appreciate their performance, 4matic or not. My only problem in that was just the expected tire spinning and minor sliding, nothing unmanageable for an experienced winter driver. I'd say if you're inexperienced at winter driving, or don't like changing to winter tires and absolutely need to drive on any given day, then go with 4matic. If you're changing from summer to winter tires, then don't worry too much about the 4matic.

Good advice there, but what I'd also like to mention is that even if you're an experienced driver, it is often the less experienced drivers or drivers with improper tires around you that can get you trouble. If you have inappropriate tires, you may find yourself spinning in one place, unable to get out of their way quickly enough.
i drive a c350 rwd and live in ny. theres some snow once in a while.
NO GOOD i love the c350 and rwd. i personally hate awd.
just dont drive when it snows lol
yes u have to turn traction control off to get out of the driveway lol
