C300 Resale Value

Another thing to consider is the vehicle resale value. I found that there was a big difference between Edmunds, KBB and NADA estimates for private party retail in good conditions for 3 yrs old 36,000 mi C300 4matic (with heated seats being the only option).

The numbers are as follows: $ 21K / $ 25 K / $ 26 K. I wonder if anybody has recently sold a 3 yr old C300 or looked into getting one from a private buyer? If so, please, let me know what estimate is actually closer to reality ...

I have always found Edmunds to be the closest of the three. Even then, Edmunds is going to be a bit optimistic compared to what the dealer is actually going to offer.
As far as a private sale, it will depend a lot on the car, the owner, the area, time of year, etc, etc.

I went to the dealer last weekend to get my car appraised. They brought a printout from KBB and offerred me the price listed for excellent condition.

Did they offer to buy straight out or with a trade?

I concur with the above. I used to look at KBB numbers as a reference, but now I find Edmunds closer to the harsh reality
