ehhhhh.... I really don't like the new look. It reminds me of a volkswagon/bmw.

to me it looks like it lost its masculinity.... It went from that "angry" look to a..... cant find the word im looking for...

but that's just my opinion.

Because it's the only way to sell cars over a long period of time. People want the newest thing out there, so after a few years you need to change things around a bit if you want to bring people back in to the dealership.

I always thought the C sold a good amount of vehicles and I actually think they will sell less with the new styling.

I don't think it's too bad and history tells that it often takes a little while to warm up to changes.

However, I had the same feeling you did, looking at the front, particularly the lower grill/mesh area. After looking for a while I determined that I much prefer the two short vertical pieces on either side of the lower grill/mesh to be angled in the opposite direction. I think the front of the current W204 is more aggressive but angling those pieces in the opposite direction neutralizes that and makes it look more like a BMW. If I could use characters to describe what I'm trying to say:

I prefer |==/======\==| as opposed to |==\======/==| for the lower grill area. The forward slash and back slashe represent the painted pieces I am referring to. Does that make sense?

They haven't shown the sedan with AMG package yet. It will have the /--\ lower front fascia similar to the fascia on the wagon with AMG package. I think it will look good. I agree that the non AMG package looks pretty boring, but then again, the non-AMG looked boring from 2007-2010.

The new car looks good. Couple that with the new engine technology of direct injection on the 3.5 liter model and you get great HP/torque with the economy of the 2010 3.0 liter. That by itself is enough reason to choose it over today's models. In fact, when I take delivery on the new model, I'll order the brake upgrades and have a car with quality, class and performance wrapped into one. By then, it'll probably be made in the US too (using the latest in manufacturing technology and non-union US labor).

I like it. I think the interior is a pretty big step up and the exterior changes are pretty cool...

I can't wait to see the AMG bodykit for it.

Hopefully they won't have the problems that BMW and other manufacturers are having with the DI technology (e.g. early/frequent high pressure fuel pump failures, gas injected at a point bypassing intake valves causing them to gum up and reduce engine performance because cleaning additives never touch the intake valves).

Lol, this thread amuses me. Seems like people in the US just don't know about the AMG sports package and the lack thereof in the pictures. Just wait until they release the AMG sports package and it'll look more similar to the 2010 and sportier.

no, people in the US know about the AMG bodykit for the sports package, BUT the people in this thread that are crapping on the way the facelift looks are just trying to rationalize their decision to buy a car or the fact that they own a car that is no longer "new".

That may well be true, but it was mostly this post, among others, that raised my suspicions: "I prefer |==/======\==| as opposed to |==\======/==| for the lower grill area. The forward slash and back slashe represent the painted pieces I am referring to. Does that make sense?"

I guess I shouldn't say "people in the US", more like people in this thread.

Well, excuse me.

I certainly am no expert on the all iterations and options of the W204. My 2009 C300 did not have any AMG sport package. I'm not crapping on the design at all, just making an observation. I'll wait until I see the US product with all it's options. So I made you suspicious huh? Maybe some conspiracy? LOL! Relax a little, you'll live longer.

Haha sorry I shouldn't use the word suspicion. Recently my word choice in expressing myself has gotten worse because I don't use English as much nowadays over here. I think your C300 did have an AMG sport package, since the configuration /======\ indicates the existence of it.

OK, no probem. I suppose if I tried to express myself in your language I'd really make an a$$ out of myself . I don't remember such a package, unless it was part of the "P1" package my car has, or maybe it is part of the "Sport" (vs. "Luxury") version that mine also has.

Thanks, I didn't intend to provoke. Yes, in the US the AMG sports package comes standard for all 'sport' models, which is why I think some people just don't know about the AMG sports package. Over here, there's the classic version, elegance version (equivalent to the US "luxury" version) and lastly, the avantgarde version (which is basically the US luxury version with the sport grill, and better interior trim).

To make it look like a 'sport' version from the US, the car must be ordered as avantgarde, with the AMG sport package option chosen. The pictures shown in the thread are of the European avantgarde version of the car. Thus the side-skirts, diffuser and AMG front bumper are all missing, which explains why the car looks like it has lost its aggressiveness. I don't really like the new headlights, but in my opinion the AMG sports package totally transforms the look of the car and to give the new look a fair assessment, pictures of the new sedan with the AMG package attached would be more accurate.

Agree with the advice, but I think you probably do have the AMG package, as do I. We have the same 09 model year, and I believe the "333 Sport Package" on the Monroney label calls out the content. In any event, I am sure we will have plenty of chance to see the All Money to Germany version of the 2012 very soon!

amg package is the sport package and its already in pictures. I still don't like it. I like the circular fogs and how they make the car look aggressive. Its hard to tell what facelift will look like modded. But I do think the facelift looks better than 2011.

Heres what i mean...here is the 6 class for comparison. Yes the first one is amg because it best replicates the sport version of the c class.

I like the 2006 better

2010 not so hot. Non -amg but i even like the 2006 amg better than the 2010 amg
