What is the source of the movie? A commercial DVD or an I-Tunes download? Some cannot be burned to a DVD such as:

Movies purchased from the iTunes Store can’t be burned to a DVD or VCD that will play in a DVD player or Video CD.

I've used DVDSanta before and it was alright, not the greatest but I think it was free?). There was another program I used that had nice menus and everything but I can't remember what it was, sorry.

But yeah, search "dvdsanta vs" or "avi to dvd" and you should get something that would do what you need.

If you have AVI files and want them in DVD format, i have always used ConvertXtoDVD.

Why would you burn it with a region code? Just burn them region free.

Shouldn't have a region code if its in AVI format.

Standard DVD's have a VOB format (Audo_TS & Video_TS). Convertxtodvd will convert the .avi file to this structure (region free)

Yeah, I have the feeling he's just burning the avi files as data onto blank DVDs.
