In my opinion modification gives one the opportunity to personalize, The factory is in the business of appealing to the masses. Because of this AMG/kleemann/Brabus and renntech exists. The C-class is probably the most modified Mercedes Benz to date.

Went to local muffler shop, he stated he is willing to build and install for $150, but his is not stainless steel, believe he said aluminum? Shop is legit, nothing but good reviews. Do you guys recommend custom built? or just go Magnaflow?

When I said i was looking for a sporty growl not a rasp... he recommended not deleting mufflers if replacing resonators with x-pipe, of if i delete mufflers to leave resonator (no X-pipe)

What do you guys think?

doesn't matter between custom build or not. With magnaflow you are paying for the brand and its perks basically..

Aluminized steel. Typical exhaust material. Not as good as stainless, but its fine for something you won't see. It doesn't sound like it would be much if any cheaper. I'd just go Magnaflow. Probably just means more money in his pocket.

I'll try and negotiate a lower price and get it custom built. If not, i'll go MF.
Thanks for the reply

DAMN videos dont do this justice... got X-pipe resonator delete and muffler delete as well>>> Here is my problem.. WAY WAY WAY too much DRONE for me, seriously i have a 30 min commute to and from work, and its unbearable. Should I put resonator back on leave mufflers off? or mufflers back on leave resonator off?

thanks again for the advice guys...

Wont Putting resonator back on (mufflers off) decrease DRONE, AND leave the growl outside of the car? Dont mind the growl outside, but noise/DRONE inside has to go.

'09 C300, mflow xpipe.
I installed a Magnaflow xpipe and it's great. No issues with drone, the guys who put it on stanced it perfect. The issue is probably with your mufflers

Why the heck did you remove the mufflers? There's your problem.

Didn't think it was loud enough>>> Saw that others also did the muffler delete, figured it'll be just right. Went to the other extreme....
So all votes go to putting mufflers back on vs. resonator?

Yeah put the mufflers back. The resonator will give you minimal differences with BOTH mufflers off. Its a very nice growl with just the x pipe though no drone at all

I understand where you're coming from.

With the resonators, when you're inside the car, it didn't sound too loud for me at first. Had to put the windows and go full throttle to appreciate the difference.

But it's better off this way. IMO, you don't want the mufflers off bc a Mercedes shouldn't sounding like a mustang. Put the mufflers back on, maybe look in to getting a cat delete? I'm sure somebody has done it on the forum. Idk if it voids the warranty or not though.

Well you can get mufflers that are significantly louder than stock. I'm sure your muffler shop could weld some magnaflows in that will make you happy.

How then do you get a nice and clean weld around pipes knowing you don't have a lot of space to go around ?

Thanks in advance

its not hard to get a nice clean weld. any reputable muffler shop should be able to do it cleanly
