Glove bock I plug in a male to male aux cord one side in glove box aux and one to my phone aux then turn on phone to max sound, then click disc on your dash board then go bottom left change to aux. If this still doesn't work then try turning up the volume from the car sometimes devices are very quite

If you are trying to use an Apple product, there's no reason why your Aux port won't work. Don't let them try to sell you the overpriced iPod kit. I have one and it sucks. I hook my iPhone into the Aux port exclusively and have no problems. MixedFruits is right about the volume. I have to turn the volume on my iPhone all the way up and then slowly add volume from the radio controls.

Yes, MB missed it on the iPod interface. Also with the UMI. Maybe the 2012 will have a USB digital input, as the Audio 20 accepts only an analog audio input, turning the signal into digital with a A/D DSP, puts it through the parametric equalizer you hardly have access to (not in real time, anyway), then changes the signal back to analog with another D/A chip before sending the signal to the amplifier. Although with all that D/A (in the iPod), A/D, DSP and back through a D/A, the quality is pretty much OK:

wait what ? he means MB forgot to put a chip into the car to equalize the volume meaning that the ipod/device has to be on full blast to produce normal or even less than normal volume... well thats what ?I think he says

@scdn2, lamonsas, Mixedfruits et al. D/A = "digital to analog", A/D = "analog to digital", and DSP = "Digital signal processor" which is contained in the audio head and includes a parametric equalizer function.
Responding to the post about CDs sounding better than the Aux, previous post explained the reason why (all that D/A, A/D and then another D/A conversion). As for iPod volume, run the volume at "8" with the EQ on "Pop". This provides the optimum output from the iPod to the head unit.
MBs audio tech is still firmly rooted in the last century. The audio world has been digital for a long time and it is shameful to see the iPod interface utilizing the analog iPod output when the same harness can provide digital out directly, saving unnecessary, distortion-producing analog-to-digital and back again, conversions.

Just want to let you know that in my C300, I get a lot of static issues when I charge my iPhone and try to listen to it at the same time. I researched online and turns out I need a "Ground Loop Isolator."
Again, this is only for when the phone is charging (when I disconnect my carcharger to USB, it does away!). Super annoying...just a heads up that if you plan on charging your device, make sure you google and buy the "Ground Loop Isolator" and make sure that you get the 3.5 mm one (for the iPhone and Aux jack since they are 3.5 mm)

Lamonsas, I actually don't have that kit. I have the tomtom gps dock. I preferred this over in the system navigation cause it updates with iTunes, I can take it anywhere, and yen I upgrade phones, it moved with me.
Anyway, didn't mean to give too much detail about why, but my connection is the car power charger to tomtom an then just 3.5mm jack to aux in (all this is in the glove compartment-only the stand and some cables are visible).
