Lightbulb Questions Regarding c350 sport

Hey,

I just got a 2008 SAKS C350 sport, i am really enjoying this car but i have a couple of questions..

1)well unfortunately mine didn't come with Xenon headlights, I was wondering if any of you guys know how much would it cost me if i wanted to change my headlights at a mercedes dealer ( don't want to install aftermarket bulbs.. )

2) Im in PA and the snow is annoying, which snow tires do you recommend and from where should i get them ?

Thanks in advance

I never understood why the Saks model excluded the P2 package.

In any case, the lights are a direct interchange except self levelling won't be present. As to sources for the light assemblies, you will need to do a lot of price shopping since dealer prices vary all over the place.

Three sources:

www.mbenznl.com Two purchases and highly recommended
www.autohausaz.com Can't find headlights on their website but it's worth calling them.
www.buymbparts.biz Call them

For winter tires, go to www.tirerack.com and read the reviews. They now sell Blizzaks which are good but I switched to Nokian WRG2s which I think have the edge.

I strongly recommend Bridgestone Blizzak WS70. I have the predecessor model, WS60, and they transformed my car from incapable to excellent in our Michigan winters. Others here have noted that Nokian have crisper overall handling and steering response, and I would imagine those Finnish tires should be quite great as well!.

Sign on to tirerack.com. Search for a winter tire and wheel package with basic aluminum rims. They will mount, balance, add TPMS, and ship them to one of their network of local approved installers in your area, and all you do is show up for a quick swap. Before you choose the tire, look at the Tests and Survey Data tabs and see how winter tires are being rated by their team, and millions of miles of owner experience.

Exclamation

Sure i will do it sometime later ...

now there is something that popped up about the snow tires..
buying the a package is kinda expensive so I started searching for tires..

Rear: 255/35/18
Front: 225/40/18
i found only one type available for the rear which isn't available for the front and it is under the (performance snow) category

Is it safe to match all the tires? like get 4 of the 225/40/18
and would it fit ? and if it does will i notice any difference in the driving experience ? i called mercedes and they told me they need time to figure this out while i'm really suffering from the blizzard...

I also live in PA. I got black OZ wheels from Tire Rack and Continental Extreme Contact All Season tires and the work real well for a rear wheel drive car.

Do not buy 18" snow tires...snow tires should be smaller, 17" in our case, with narrower tires to increase the pounds per square inch on the contact patch. Go back and price 4 225/45R17 on low cost rims. The fact that the car may have come with a staggered setup for 3 seasons tires is not relevant. Also, skip performance snows and look for studless, which are the most capable snows without inserting the often illegal studs of years ago. Or, just go right for Blizzak WS70.
