Would a DIY be too much to ask? lol :y |
Has anyone successfully retrofitted their pre-2011 w204 fogs to the new LED strips other than Sailexc250?
Seems really complex with a 'control module' to control the brightness. Does anyone know if you can buy the parts and connect it without any control modules? Will it work without an error if I don't care about the brightness control? This is what he wrote to me in a PM: hi! A2048852814 A2048852914 A2048850053 A2048850753 A2048852774 A2048852874 A2218201756 A2218201856 The above parts are all u need for the retrofit of the LED DRL, which includes all the neccessary mountings. Once you have done it u cannot revert back to original as u need to cut off the mounting points of the bumper behind the original fog lights ( don't worry about it, u cannot see the cutting from outside after the installation of the leds). For the control module and the adapter, I have found out a Mercedes specialist from Japan who made very good quality retrofit led kit with wiring harness for various mercedes models, and fortunately, they can be able to communicate in simple English and most importantly they are willing to ship overseas. Have a look at this website, I order the control module directly from them http://www.prostuff-net.com/w204/w204.html From the main page there is a button " inquiry in English" , use this to contact with them. For the price of the control module with the necessary harness and the resister , they charge 40000 yen + 4000 yen shipping to Hong kong, which should be equivalent to us$ 520 grand total. I reckon it is expensive, but their quality is very high hassle fee. I don't have pics of the control module, I will take a pic of it later on. It is attached with the fuse box along with some wiring harness to make the retrofit work. Hope this helps Sailexc250 |
Please PM me details, very interested.

I would be interested in an install without the control module as well. If anybody has done it please let us know.

Yes it is possible. But u need to find out 1. Suitable adapter ( since the plug is different for the LED strip, smaller) 2. Suitable resistor ( since voltage is different ) There is a fellow Hong Kong member (Coconut) Who have done this b4. You can try to ask him! |
looks nice

hi,
I get all complete with ECU in http://omtuning.wordpress.com/oem-il...cion-original/ |
Hi guys,
just an update from a guy in the UK london. MB main dealers will not confirm the parts you need until you give them a chasis or numberplate for a car that already had these (DRL) fitted from the factory. I have noticed all late made AMG Sports C classes c250 and above (pre facelift) have these DRLS as standard and you should be able to get a number plate from the autotrader to give them. There are 4 parts for each side and the parts numbers have been given by other members. If you wire them directly to your fog light wires they will blink, so as suggested or as CKSperformance have advised is to wire them to the front SAM Control unit. CKS will supply and fit these for you for about £600 roughly... I had to go through the trouble to find out how to fit these because my car was repaired after a accident and I was given a bumper for DRL's. If you have a sports AMG bumper with round fogs, you need to cut the fog light housing out. See the installation PDF on this page to see how! its under the installtion link.. above the add to cart writing! http://www.cksperformance.com/index....ducts_id=21242 |
Hi sailexc250, i'm a w204 pre-facelift owner in HK. Will you mind PM me the garage that you use for changing the OEM LED DRL lights plus the Japanese controller? How much does it cost for the parts & labor? Thanks a lot!!!
