Hi MB folks,

I'm originally from Hong Kong and a new proud owner of a C300 sport in the SF bay area, so I occasionally play CD with Chinese songs but the display is just showing garbage characters.
Anybody got the same issues? and any solutions to it?

 

don't think there is a fix for that. never seen a headunit here in the states that reads chinese characters. i remember seeing a thread here that if you use the memory card option, it will display chinese characters.

 

My car with the flip up screen can display chinese/japanese characters from CDs, USB thumb drives, portable hard drives and ipods. The key is to have all ID3 tags of your MP3 songs converted to ID3 v2.3 (can be done on itunes, just right click and choose "convert ID3 tags).

 

non- MM cars cannot read chinese. It sucks I've been looking for a fix forever but couldn't find it. I don't think you can even do it with STAR.
