Thinking of getting a 2008 c300 can u guys list ur mods?

hi, i'm new here. i'm planning on getting a 2008 c300 and i'd like to get rims and tint minimum. I'm considering a quad exhaust and maybe a body kit.

Stock 2008 c300's in my area are going for anywhere between $21,000- 25,000. so i'm looking at a budget of $5000 to get what i want done. but some c300's look so good and i'm not sure what all is going into them to make them look so cool. are they lowered? body kit, rims and exhaust?

i don't know much about customizing cars so please be gentle on me. i know i'm a newb and i don't mean to ask dumb questions so please don't flame.

so i was wondering if you guys could list your mods and prices - and pics would awesome.

i don't know what kind of rims to get or what kind of quad exhaust to get. and if anyone knows a place in northern CA to get the work done i would appreciate any recommendations.

thx!!

thanks for replying to my thread.

you're car looks great. its exactly what i meant when i said some c300's look better.

but there are a few things about it i don't like and wouldn't purchase.

i don't like the front body kit part, it looks too big and sticks out too far. the grill is ok. i dont' like the custom seats.

so, i couldn't offer you anywhere near your asking price. i'm sorry.

if you could list the mods you did and their prices, that would be awesome. thx

Thank you for the compliment. I can tell you this much, with a 5K budget you can forget about a body kit, painting and install can run you 2K alone easily.. I'm assuming you want nice wheels, so figure 19" wheel/tire package is about 2-2,500(for 1 piece), lowering springs + install about 450, spoiler, hid's,tint windows, if you don't get a body kit maybe front lip and quad diffuser and there's your $5,000 budget.. If you can manage to do the labor yourself it obv saves a lot of $$, but I don't recommend painting anything with spray paint. My fenders alone were $1,600 besides paint and labor, intake was $300, strut bar was $400, x pipe + install $200, sprint booster was $300, ECU tune was $550. The list is endless and adds up easily. Anyway good luck if you have any questions pm me.

I find myselft kind of in between. Some very well thought out modifications make our cars look really, really good. On the other hand, some of the most well intended mods end up looking tacked on or just simply out of place. I have spent a couple hundred bucks to do a handful of very modest mods. For the most part, I think the members on here have done some really amazing work!

I agree with 100% and should have stated the same...Mild mods that look like they are from the factory, and enhance the car without cheapening (is that a word?) the look, can really make a car stand out from stock and improve the already beautiful design. But...I think there is a fine line - What have you done to your car C300?

A lot of guys on here wouldn't even consider these mods but at least it is something to be tinkering around with and makes having the car a little more fun...without spending an arm and a leg...

1. De-badged
2. Clear Side Markers
3. X-Pipe
4. Slimline chrome tag holder
5. 5mm Rear Spring Pads
6. Weather Tech Trunk Mat
7. Matte Black Painted Sport Grille
8. Flush door lock pins

Another round of ICE
I have photos spread around various threads, but my signature lists my mods and the sources, all of which have been very pleasing. Welcome and best wishes! If you have a particular question, I can help you find the photo.

The OP asked about body kits, wheels, exhausts, and lowering a car.. He didn't say trunk mats, door pins and tag holders. He's asking about a little more "serious" mods. Some people like to take it a step further and not look like 99% of the "modded" cars on here, not saying they look bad. There's a lot more out there than just front lips, quad diffuser, and blacked out grilles.. To each his own is exactly rite. The main reason I did what I did to my car is bc I use to attend car shows on a weekly basis. And I can tell you rite now there not for the moddest eyes.

Seriously?? I even stated up front that most people, really even me, wouldn't even consider most things like this mods, but if you just want to spend a couple hundred bucks tinkering....and you felt the need to come back with that?? A couple of the things like the x-pipe and clear markers would be nice touches to get started and would be considered mods…not major but mods none the less.
Anyhow, I am glad you are happy with what you have done with your ride but I would certainly put it in the "over done" category unlike many of the other modified cars on here.
You are right though, to each his own.
BTW- I was responding directly to his request.

"you're car looks great. its exactly what i meant when i said some c300's look better"... That's what the OP said when he was talking to me, every1 is entitled to an opinion, that's what half this forum is based on. And believe me your not the 1st person to tell me my car is over done.. I was replying directly to the OP bc he asked about all "mods" I actually have. Sorry if you got upset that I mentioned your trunk mats!

lol...I have a little spread sheet on everything I ever do to my cars, with dates, costs, etc and just found it easy to cut and paste...otherwise I would have probably just written a couple things down...and I happen to really like my trunk mat...

yes, your car looks really good. i just don't like the front bumper and the seats really.

the rims, quad pipes, and all the other stuff look really good. i actually like the stock c300 sport front bumper better than the one on there but overall. its not bad.

my rims + tires staggered cost me 1600 in all, they were mandrus milliniems or however u spell that. I got a front lip on this forum from Gary@suvneer, he should be able to get you something for less than 300, then i went to 123mercedes.com and bought a trunk and roof spoiler which cost me about 130 each, but you need to get that painted and installed which might cost you another couple hundred. I also did a X Pipe mod for the exhaust which cost me 85 on amazon and 60 to get it done at the shop. Im also kind of a newb so hopefully this will help you.

yeh man, that helped me A LOT. thanks dood. that's exactly what i was looking for. what mods you got and they're prices and even where u got them from. awesome.

looks like i'd be happy w/ rims, tint, and quad pipes, new diffuser, and a spoiler or 2. what's an x pipe? what does it do?

what kind of wheels and tires did you get?

Thank you, majority of people don't really like the seats.. They do look way better in person.
