I was wondering do you have to remove the radiator cover to remove the grill? ive been researching and have come up with mixed results. i found this video but im not sure if this removal is exclusive to german spec only. is this all you need to do??

The T-bar IS there in this video. You can tell because after the tabs are released and he pulls the grille up, exposing the knobs on the end, he goes back to disconnect each end of the bar, first the left side, then the right side. I had to view the video in full-screen and then pause it at the last couple secs to confirm that the T-bar is there.
Soooooooo, my money is on the fact that all of our cars have the bar, just that people just popped off the grille while leaving it in-place and under the cover.

So the mysterious T-bar just supports the grill and doesn't attach to it? The more I investigate the grill install the more confused I get!

*IF* you have the t-bar, it is indeed attached to the grille. Look on page one of this thread for the pics. The ends have pegs that fit into holes on the grille.

wait... is that youtube video showing the proper way of removing the grill? from what i understand you have to at least remove the radiator cover and perhaps even the side coves that are on the left and right of it. that video makes it look TOO easy. i broke the circular notch while trying to remove the grill b/c the diy guide said to pry it out

So are you saying you swapped in your new grille by following the vid and didn't remove the top cover? Did you have the t-bar on your car? If you read the entire thread, there's still confusion as to which cars have or don't have the t-bar.

Well, someone backed into my grill and pushed it in. It took me like 10 seconds to remove the grill and about 15 minutes to put it back on. Removing the grill is the easy part but it takes a bit to put it back on correctly. The hard part was lining up the hole that is inside the grill to this latch thingy.
