I absolutely love the Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec tires. I have never looked into seeing if they are offered in our size (I have used them on many other cars in the past) and they are awesome. I believe that they are a step about the Hankook Evo and even the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2. Just don't consider running them in any ice/snow or below 40 degree weather, as you shouldn't with any summer tire compound. Not to mention that the tread pattern looks awesome!
But check out tire rack's latest review of the extreme performance summer tires: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...y.jsp?ttid=118

I need to change my tires too and I'm going to go with the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110. I found this website www.discounttiredirect.com which has very good prices including free shipping + a $40 rebate if you buy any set of 4 tires between March 25 - 26. I think no one can't beat that no even www.tirerack.com but here are my questions for those of you that have already made the change:
-Do I need to get new valve stems and TPMS for each tire or can I reuse the old ones? I'm asking because the website is suggesting to so I just wanted to make sure I don't buy anything I don't have to.
-How much have you paid for mounting and balancing the tires including shop fees and everything. I know that prices vary from shop to shop but I just want to get a general idea of what I'm looking to spend.
-Does the car need to be aligned after changing tires?
Thanks in advance for your answers!

If you want good AS tires for decent $$, then based on my experience the Conti DWS and Hankook Ventus V12s are reasonable. I ran both these tires on my '02 E46 M3. They are softer though and wear out quickly (depends of course on your driving style). I just recently bought some Bridgestone Potenza RE960s AS for my 19's on my C300 and they have performed really well both in dry and wet weather, but they cost more $$$... you get what you pay for...

The Michelin Primacy HP are OEM here in Mexico. Find them hard and NOISY, since we get to drive at 120 MPH all the time here. Really noisy. First they sing and and then they sound like driving over coarse gravel. Will probably replace them with Pirelli's although I doubt they will be half as durable as the Michelins.

The Michelin Primacy HPs are inflated only to the spec, all 10 other vehicles have at least 5 PSI extra to combat the extreme road surfaces encountered here. Always afraid that the next pothole will go all the way to the rim, at least two friends have gotten rid of their W203/204s because they were replacing a tire a month.
Comments on TireRack and on tire sites in England all say that the Primacy HP is decent enough, but NOISY.

Acapulco,
I've only needed to replace my original Michelin Pilots on the rear of the car. I'm at 65K miles and the front ones still look fairly good. This is on 17" rims if that matters.
I chose to stay with the originals in part to avoid mixing tire brand as the fronts were far from being worn out. There is also the issue of first hand experience vs what others say. Whatever tires I get, I'm pretty much stuck with for 3 years or more. Not something I want to chance on some over hyped tire that I've never head of before. I've been burned before and try avoiding the same mistakes.
