Soooo I was looking.....

....at the sideview mirrors on the 2011 C Class today whilst picking up my oil/filter. I was curious if you guys thought they might be interchangeable with my 2008?? I asked the parts guy and he said no because they changed the bodystyle....lol...I was like WTF???

Just by looking it seems as if they would....

And for those who havent seen them the design is a little nicer and they seem almost "smoked" in color......thought they would look sick on my black C300...

Any thoughts?

-Bill

They are a direct interchange but will not fold unless you buy the euro version which is not available in the US.

I don't know about you but I found the newer style mirrors to small whenever I get a loaner with them.

I wish someone would make a simple plastic outer replacement shell that had the new blinker design but retained the 08-09 mirror glass and folding mechanism..

It is quite a bit smaller if you're used to the 08-09 mirrors, but I guess that's a tradeoff for reducing the amount of wind noise from the mirrors.

Yeah, my sister has the small side mirrors on her car. She hates them and I hate them. I like mine better. The new ones are smaller, look a bit cheaper (when your on the inside of the car) and I don't really find a difference in wind noise. Most of the noise heard at highway speeds comes from the trunk anyway.

They also are a lot lower down when you sitting in the driver seat. So much so that sometimes I have to almost sit up or lean forward just to see the bottom of it over the door in my seating position in her car.

The new turn signals look better and more appealing when not light (as in just the sideways v design). But personally, I don't like them as much when they are lighted up with teh turn signal. I like just our straight line better. Looks classier IMO.

I almost pulled the trigger on replacing my 08 mirrors with the newer style, but then decided that the older bigger ones work so much better. I can effectively eliminate the blind spot with my 08s whereas when i test drove a newer car I had trouble setting up the mirrors in the same way

Why don't you find the post that gives the comparative dimensions? They are a tiny bit shorter at the inside edge and across the top.

It's an optical illusion.
