How much have you paid ???

I need to change my tires but I wanted to ask these questions:

-Do I need to get new valve stems and TPMS for each tire or can I reuse the old ones? I'm asking because the website is suggesting it so I just wanted to make sure I don't buy anything I don't have to.

-How much have you paid for mounting and balancing the tires including shop fees and everything. I know that prices vary from shop to shop but I just want to get a general idea of what I'm looking to spend.

-Does the car need to be aligned after changing tires?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

You will need the new valve stems but not the TPMS rebuild kit. My dealership charges $50 per pair or $100 to mount/balance all four tires if you buy them somewhere other than from them. The car doesn't need aligned unless you think your alignment is off.

If you're buying your tires from tirerack or some online source, just take it to your local tireshop and have them mount and balance it. It should cost less than your local stealership.

Tires shops around SoCal usually charge about $15.00 to $20.00 mounting and balance, if you don’t have any problems with your valve steam don't mess with then.

Your valve stem is connected to your TPMS... You can reuse them when you change tires or wheels

Computerized balancing and mounting is roughly $10 a tire but that can vary greatly... I buy my tires from a local tire shop and they usually do it for free

Unless the TPMS is damaged by the tire monkey when mounting the tires, there is nothing to change, despite the sales pitch to do so.

Are you in the US?

Thanks for your answers guys, I'm definately not taking my car to the dealer for a tires. I actually found really good prices on tires at Discount Tire Direct. They offer optional items at checkout, valve stems and TPMS rebuild kit so I figure I would ask. Yeah I'm in the US FL.
