You don't need to do that and you're going to confuse him with that comment. The AUTO function is smart enough to know what to do year around whether it is hot, cold, humid, or dry. Set it and forget it! (with the two exceptions I noted already above).

ac off, 72, set to defrost as well as the footwells, fog-x applied to the inside of all my windows, i never get fog

+ 1 on AC and Auto activated 100% of the time. Never any fogging issues.

When you set your climate control to defrost it turns on your on AC. The defrost function uses AC to defrost your windows.
You are wasting time and money on fog-x.
So again to stop your windows from fogging up turn on AC.

+1 on this. Instead of wasting money on Fog-x, invest in new cabin filters to prevent mildew and bacteria growth. Which will lead to increase fog in the interior.
