lol what are you talkin about, both are still boats. but don't get me wrong, the 204 is still just about superior in most categories compared to the camry. especially fun factor.

Oh it's doable! ... Or so I've heard

FWIW, the TL SH-AWD does 0-60 in about 5.6 seconds.

How do you know on any of those points? A blind test for a passenger might reveal a lot. Point B is quantifiable. We're at a stage now where nearly all cars are pretty good for safety, and this comparison is not an exception. "Proud owner"...well, that only indicates personality defects. Like I've mentioned in another thread, out here, Germans make fun of Americans for this mentality around Mercedes, when here, they are just cars. They are tools (and to some extent, Germans are trying to get the high end Lexus, Infiniti, and Acura/Hondas you guys make fun of).

well, when I was at a dealer waiting for my car, i sat in a camary le and a new e350 and i liked the E350 more, seemed more spacious and more advanced. although I was surprised at the camrys interior though. used to have a 2001 camry and it just was a total 100% improvement, but i guess thats normal for a car 11 years later.. lmao

Owner of 07 Camry V6 SE, 08 C300 Sport & 10 RX350 AWD and here are my evals..

Seat comfort - RX > Camry > C300
Handling - C300 > RX > Camry
MPG - Camry > C300 > RX
Build Quality - RX > C300 > Camry

Camry has about 75k miles and will be 5 yrs old in June and there are already signs of rattle and noise developing...C300 also has some minor problems that need dealer to attend to, the only car I think I will keep for 10 yrs out of the 3 probably is the RX..

Lolol, take the blinders off. Even here, in Germany, these cars are noted for that. I don't have the vibrations, but squeaks from the suspension. The list of complaints out here are pretty high, likely because Germans aren't such mercedes apologists.

No offense to the Toyota owners here but they are purely appliances in my opinion, albeit good ones. There is nothing about any Toyota that excites me. To the average consumer they are great cars but to the enthusiast driver there is absolutely nothing to like in my opinion. Rental car interior, bland styling, and soft/floaty ride... I'd actually choose a new Kia Optima turbo over a V6 Camry if I had do choose a $25K sedan.

I like Japanese cars but Toyota and Honda both need to try a little harder as they appear to be getting passed up by Kia, Hyundai, and now the domestics. The new Dodge/Chrysler line is much more exciting to me than Toyota or Honda. It will be interesting in the next two years to see how much market share Kia/Hyundai take away from Toyota/Honda. I recently attended the KC auto show and was able to look at many of the new models and Kia/Hyundai appear to have surpassed all other Asian brands in style, interior and exterior, not to mention quality and fit/finish. I was shocked honestly. Suzuki Kizashi is a very nice sedan as well but grossly underpowered... I never thought I'd like a Kia, times are changin'. Ok enough rambling.

I agree with you. Hyundai and Kia are slowly becoming the new Honda and Toyota. Which is really sad, as I love Honda. Honda has made some really poor decisions lately.

And as you said, domestics are making a comeback for sure. Seems like the market is becoming more competitive than ever.

You guys are too funny.

First off, I find it hilarious that owners of C300's and Camry's talk about "who's car is faster". Talk about missing the boat.

Who really cares. Those aspects of both cars are so far down the chain in regards to what makes them special in their own ways, or over one another, etc. If you do care, then you're both shopping the wrong cars.

As for a C-Class "getting you girls", I find it hilarious some of you need a car to do that. And we are aware that the M-B symbol has a strong cache to it.... But really now, are we talking about cars, namely entry-level compact Luxury-Brand Sedans "getting girls"? Are you dudes really that ugly?

While we aren't Porsche owners.... I still when I see my W204. Most of you have probably read the articles about testosterone levels in men who drive a Porsche vs someone driving say a.... Toyonda Camrolla...

There is a very real mental satisfaction I get from driving everyday and that HAS to be a good thing for me.

If someone with a Camry started talking about their car being "faster" than mine, be it true or not, I wouldn't even give him the pleasure of honoring the conversation. You lower your cars value when you lump it into either of those categories (performance, if it's not intended to be a performance car, and a Camry). Just tell the dude to buzz off and enjoy his fast Camry, while you enjoy your sexy Benz.

Speak for yourself, Bubba. I've been a Porsche owner for longer than you can imagine and the pairing of Porsche and MB in the garage is just about perfect.

Page three, and you fellers are up to the low grade interior as the big point, yet are carefully treading around bringing up Lexus, or the Avensis, which is doing pretty well in Germany...

Americans do not know nor do they really care about the Avensis as it's not imported to the US. And don't relate it to the build quality of the American Scion tC, because even if it is, then that just proves the thread's point further.

You're saying Lexus is actually more revered than an MB in Germany?

I'm pretty sure he wasn't referring to the Boxster when he was making the comparison.

You guys actually like your Porsche. I, nor my family have never looked at them before. I guess I might take a look now -- never been brought to my attention really. Do any of them offer AWD?

Also, you don't need the w204 to get girls. But it sure doesn't hurt, haha! I love the attention I get from all my cars. But the w204 doesn't compare to the H2 hummer I had that was dubbed out back in the early 2000's when they were very rare.
