Moldy Smell 09 C300

Took my C300 in to MB for for a moldy smell. Wife just called and said they want $155.00. Car has 24,000 on it. Question shouldn't this be under warranty?

Someone else actually posted it in a previous thread. I just had it downloaded for future reference too. :3 thought I should share the gift of anti-a/c-stink.

Any I'm probably gona try and stop by. Not sure if my car's worth showing yet. I've been on the border of going all on mods out or balancing money between college, my girlfriend, and food :3 The second on has been yielding better results for now. Haha. I'm gettin a CF diffuser soon and I'm trying to break the deal on some AMG tips. If I get that done before the meet then maybe

Another round of ICE
And...one more time...it seems to help if you leave the system in AUTO 100% of the time, and just adjust the temp dials to your comfort.

+1

Although as of late, the weather's been sort of warm and my AC stays on the colder spectrum of temperatures. And as a result sometimes I still get the odor for a bit. This can be fixed though by blasting the heater for a bit.

I was wondering why this was, any explanation?

My best understanding is that the system in AUTO is programmed to operate the compressor on a sufficiently routine schedule that it dries the passageways, preventing mold/mildew growth.

I use Auto all the time and still have the A/C odor...it is terrible this year. I kind of noticed it at times last spring but way worse this time around. I thought it was since the cabin filter is about due to be changed but I may try to get this taken care of under warranty now. Thanks for the info.!

Does a cabin filter that needs changed have anything to do with the smell or is it the same with a new cabin filter installed too?

Moldy AC System

I know this thread is older, but it is one of the ones that I found helpful when my <2 year old GL 350 had the same issue. Wanted to post our Service Bulletin#LI83.30-P-059119 that I've seen mentioned but never seen a copy of...With the possible health consequences of mold exposure we opted to get rid of the car after the work was completed since we didn't see any reason this would not be a recurring issue and our extended warranty would be up at 100,000 (I drive 30-35,000 per year)
